I requested a GCMS note on April 29th, 2015, and then I received this email:

Hello XXXX,

You have successfully submitted your request under the Access to Information Act to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Your payment receipt number is #RXXXXXXXX.

The information and documents that you provided will be reviewed and processing will begin shortly.

Please note that if you have submitted your request outside of regular business hours, the processing of your request will begin the following business day.

If your request is complete, it will be processed within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt, unless an extension is required. Extensions may be taken for limited and specific reasons, which are listed in the following sections of the Acts:

Section 9 of the Access to Information Act

Section 15 of the Privacy Act

Your temporary request tracking number is XXXXXX. After your request has been registered, a new number will be assigned to your request.

Should additional information or documents be required, you will be notified by the Access to Information and Privacy Division at Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

When you receive an answer to your request, review the information to determine whether you wish to make a further request under the Act. You also have the right to file a complaint to the Information Commissioner should you believe that you have been denied any of your rights under the Act.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact CIC's ATIP Division by e-mail.

Thank you for using the Access to Information and Privacy online application.

I haven't received any updates or extension needed emails, did I miss something?

You should be getting your info at any time I would think if you selected to receive the files via email.

Did you select physical file or email ?

Chris.

Its not usually for them to be a couple of days late . Some times mine come just on the 30 days some times a day or two after . E.G.you request them after 3-pm on a Friday, they won't start the process until Monday . There's your 3 days late. The email receipt you received is an automatic response.

If you haven't received your GCMS you should contact them to inquire about the delay at: ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca

Keep in mind there was a long weekend in May, so they may be late because of that!

I received my notes via email and it took 33 days from the order date. You will probably get them really soon.

I notice my notes always come between 1-2 EST. So if you don't receive them this afternoon, I would shoot an email.
