Yes. I have traveled to Canada couple of times in the past (somewhere around 2001-2) and to US around 4-5 times in the last 5 years.
All the travels have been as part of my work, and were arranged by my employers.
I dont remember whether my finger prints were taken by the Canadian authorities, but US Immigration does have my fingerprints records.

so there is no need to worry then , they will only cross check your finger prints with their data base . some times what happens is your name can be simliar to their data base so they will just cross check with your finger prints. do take along your identity documents as well

Hi friends
My status changed to In Process on Jan 12, 2011, as quoted above.
Today i got a phone call from the embassy in Delhi that i need to go there to get my fingerprints taken. They have specified the date and time at which i should be present at the embassy for this.
Any idea what this is all about? I thought the next step was medical.
I dont need to take my family along, only i need to go there. They did not specify any documents also that i should bring. I was told that a telegram has been dispatched to my address with the same info, though i am yet to get it.

Please let me know what this means! The status of my application is still In Process only.

This is a very unusual request!
I think they need your fingerprints not for the FSW process but they will probably be circulating this with Security agencies worldwide to verify your antecedents.
Expect delays in your file processing......

Will sending an email query to CHC ND help?

Another doubt i have is whether the phone call was authentic or not! They did not quote my file number also and the promised telegram is yet to arrive.

Send an e-mail query, no harm...
State the facts and ask them to confirm the same.
When is the appointment?

I am to present myself at the CHC 10 minutes before 9AM, tell them at the gate that i am there for fingerprinting, and i will be taken inside then.

Send an e-mail asking whether you need to get anything with you, so that way you will get a clarification on the whole thing & if it is genuine or not...
Today is 9th so you have time to get a reply.
Else just go, no harm.
Are you in Delhi? If not, then better send that e-mail right away to be sure of the trip you will make...

This is unusal request, I have not seen any in last one year on this forum. Did they say why?

Did you ever stayed in Canada Before?
Are you not using the last name in your application?
