1. What about National IDs?
They are in Arabic and are not translated. The birth certificates and marriage is translated by government authorities, they don't deal with IDs. So do I really need to submit them?

2. When it comes to my husband's birth certificate, you had advised me to have them notarized at the Lebanese Embassy, but when I contacted them they told me that can only be done in Lebanon itself, which may cause unnecessary delays and expenses. So what I want to know isn't it enough just to translate them as it is already stamped by the Lebanese Ministry of Interior?

I know I'm a pain, but you have no idea how much helpful you've been. :)

IDs not needed , don't bother yourself with unnecessary docs , stick to what asked for only , as far as i know the Lebanese Consulate has to notarize it as they the only authority in Egypt can do this without sending it to Lebanon .. try to visit them rather calls, sometimes the mislead you in the calls

But they told me they can notarize it after it has been already notarized by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Can't I just translate them and have them certified at the Canadian Embassy? (No where in the guide does it state it needs to be notarized)

And when it comes to the IDs, in form IM0008 it asks if I have a national Id and I actually do, so is it OK to just not send it?

yes the Canadian consulate can notarized it after the stamp of the ministry of foreign affairs or after the lebanese consulate, ya notary is not mandatory but it is preferred, it asks for the ID's details , to be sure the stuff that need to be sent to CIC all mentioned in the checklist form , do you got it ?

i was saying that notarizing is not mandatory by CIC , but it's preferred , for the ID part in the applications it's asking only for the ID number and expiration date , you don't have to send a copy with your application. got me ?

Oh OK. But on the 5th page of the document checklist point 16 it states(National IDs if applicable) and in my case it is applicable. So is it Ok just to tell them its number and expiration date but not supply a copy of it?

And about the notarization, can CIC reject my application if I don't notarize that birth certificate only?

Thanks for your quick and valuable help!!

Another question!

My husband's passport will expire on the last of August. Is there something I should do?

But it takes 45 days to apply for... Can't I just apply with the old passport and then when it expires?
I can't wait 45 days to apply. :o :o

CIC recommends that the passport is valid for at least 2 years... if you submitted this passport it may be a reason of rejection because the processing time is from 11 months till 1.5 year

But don't you think the cap would've reached after 45 days? So isn't it better to submit the ones I have?
I thought they would have sent an e-mail asking me to send a new one and by that time I would have had it.

Don't you think so? Should I submit an addendum?

that's good, but like I told you before, it is better to go with renewed one, by the way your occupation is not in high demand so I think the cap will not be reached after 45 days, comparing to high demand occupation like 2174 computer programmers last year the cap was 300 filled nearly in 3 months. the choice is yours
