Hello everyone! I definitely missed this forum. Minsan binabalikan ko siya just to quickly check how everyone is doing with their applications and I'm truly happy that everyone is actually doing great and applications are moving to the right direction infact I think faster than previous months ago (or during my time).

May question lang ako, sorry if this has been asked previously but I tried to search and more on before landing related yung discussions.

My question is actually for those who already landed or with knowledge re this: (from cic website)

How much money should you bring?

It is a good idea to research how much it costs to live in the place where you plan to settle in Canada.

Bring as much money as you can to make moving and finding a home in Canada easier. Note, however, that Canadian customs regulations require you to declare if you are bringing more than C$10,000 into Canada. If you do not tell them, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

-cash
- documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders).

Yung original funds kasi namin is nabawasan na and majority of our additional funds will be coming from my retirement package which is payable after we land due to timing process by our Company. I requested for a certified true copy of my retirement fund as proof that we have incoming funds but is this acceptable?

Also, I no longer see bank statement from the list, is this still acceptable as proof of funds?

Last question, on the 2nd point/bullet: "documents that show property" what exactly does this mean? Acceptable na ang real estate property?

We will be temporary staying at my sister or parents house so rental expenses are not a big issue for us which I understand will be the major expense for a lot of immigrants.

Thanks and appreciate your response Smiley goodluck to us!

Good day.
Just noticed an update in my ECAS today.
Before, only my mailing address (agency's address) was shown. Just today, napansin ko na nakalagay na rin yung home address ko.
Does it mean na binuksan na ng CEM ang file ko and updated my ECAS?
Still waiting for SLU and MR though.

most probably not. We will need pof that is already tangible, as listed above..

Also, I no longer see bank statement from the list, is this still acceptable as proof of funds?

this was discussed during the coa, bank statement will not be considred as pof.

Last question, on the 2nd point/bullet: "documents that show property" what exactly does this mean? Acceptable na ang real estate property?

i dont think real estate is included unless that real estate is in canada. If it is the ph, it may work against you because it shows something that holds you back from immigration

We will be temporary staying at my sister or parents house so rental expenses are not a big issue for us which I understand will be the major expense for a lot of immigrants.

according to coa, rent and utility cost shoukd make up of 1/3 of your pay. This should be a guide if you are getting something beyond your means

Thanks and appreciate your response Smiley goodluck to us!
Hi adelosreyes, im still in ph, ill try to answer your questions as best as best I canfrom what I know and understand from what I read at cic and information given during coa. Hope it helps

There are many applicants who had selected SGVO as their their original VO. However due to heavy workload SGVO transferred some files to MANILA VO. Applicants whose files were transferred to MANILA VO lets connect here and share our timelines, views and thoughts. let's see what is the current Status of the MANILA VO.
Lets work together in making our Dreams come true.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/fswp-2014-sgvo-applicant-transferred-to-manila-visa-officelets-connect-here-t308648.0.html

Note: I would like to suggest those who are waiting for long time to raise a CSE regarding his/her current Visa Office. In my case I found my VO transferred to MANILA from SGVO after raising the CSE. As different visa office works differently, I think this will be very helpful if you know in advance which visa office is processing your file.

Hi anhailey. Yes, COA and CIIP are different.
COA is mandatory and is for a fee (P400 I think).
CIIP is voluntary (you can register if you are at least on MR stage or you are given an invite usually by email) and for free.

Hi, Actually po. COA and CIIP are both optional but highly recommended to attend. It has a lot of information that we ca gain to guide us to Canada.

Only PDOS is mandatory, which is required by our Phil Government. Ito po yung P400 per head na registration.

Hope it helps.. ;)
