Hi,

Just wanted to chip in, we're in some kind of a similar situation.. Passport will expire on August 2016. We have done our Medicals recently, we're hoping to have the 3rd line soon and the inevitable PPR by God's Grace thereafter.

Actually, we didn't had the time to make appointment with the Phil Embassy here in SG for the said renewal. And we know for the fact that it will take some 2months for the new passport to be released. So, we have decided to wait for the PPR and submit this current PP for stamping. Afterwhich, once PP is back with Visa.. We'll schedule for renewal.

I have done some researched online and here within the forums. Others have done this as well. So, during landing.. U just need to produce the 2 passports, the invalid or expired with the Visa and the renewed PP. Since Visa has it's own expiry and not dependent on the passport.

Not suggesting you do the same. Just an option to consider as well..

Don't pressure yourself unnecessarily. Di ka pa nahuhuli. Madami pang August & July wala pa ding MR.

Just because wala pang MR meaning may problem na ang inyong applications. No way!!! Si VO ang may problem sa backlog.

Just please pray also that our VOfficers with their jobs, their health, families, happiness etc... para ok lagi working attitude & condition nila para mabilis pagtrabaho nila.

Hi Sir,

Yes po, bale ang Visa expiry will be the usual 1 year from the date you've done and cleared your meds exam. Aside from this, they will also consider your passport expiry. Since they cannot issue your Visa further than your current PP expiry. You cannot enter Canada ofcourse when you intend to land after your Visa is expired.

For example po..
- You have done your medicals June 1, 2015. Rightfully your Visa expiry will most probably be on June 1, 2016.
- But then again, your current PP expiry will be on April 1, 2016.
- For this case, they will only consider your Visa expiry only until April 1, 2016 or maybe earlier than that (say a month prior).

Share ko lang din ang forecast ko on my part:
- Meds done na kami June 8, 2015 (Praying everything are well and cleared).
- Expecting PPR around July 1, 2015 (estimate).
- Current Passport Expiry will be at August 11, 2016.
- Visa Expiry will be at June 8, 2016 (most likely).
- Will schedule for PP renewal on August 2015 (current PP is not yet e-passport).
- Will be intending to land around May 2016 (before the Visa expiry date).

hi mau_gno. not sure if i got your question right, pro if expired na visa most likely di ka talaga papapasukin ng immigration pag land mo dun. sa pagkakaintindi ko is ang validity ng visa na ibibigay is depende sa validity ng passport, so if sample June 2016 mgeexpire ung passport, ang ibibigay nilang validity ng visa is 6 months before the expiry date ng passport, so cgro around november 2015 or december 2015 nlng valid ang visa. however, in normal scenario in which walang issue sa expiry ng passport, validity ng visa na ibibigay is 1 year from medical result received.

Just a thought Lang and based on experience na rin... you cannot travel with a passport expiring in less than 6 months. Haharangin na po sa immigration or sa check in counter pa Lang.

My passport is expiring in June 2016. Nag pa appointment na rin ako here in SG, September 21 na yun appointment ko sa embassy plus 8 weeks for releasing. Whoaaa so I decided uwi na Lang sa pinas next month at least doon one month Lang. We're still waiting for MR so hopefully by PPR time, bago na passport ko.

Just want to share the good news, I received my passport with visa this morning. This is very unexpected as I just got the 4th line yesterday. Maybe it has something to do with the email I sent to CEM last week stating that I have a booked flight on July 11 (attaching the booking confirmation booked in April 5). Though, I still did not expect that they will deliver it back this early. But still I'm very much thankful.

Thank you also guys for all the help. Graduate na ko, finally!! ;D ;D ;D

Detailed timeline below:
PPR: May 22
Passport received by CEM: May 26
DM 4th line: June 11
Passport with visa received: June 12 (Happy independence day, indeed! LOL)
