After receiving PER, when is the best time to renew the passport?
The best time would be NOW.. PER TO MR usually takes 40-60 days while renewing your passport would be 1-2 weeks... ^_^

Yienyanz, ito lang nakita ko sa cic website.

"Your valid permanent resident visa and your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). The officer will make sure you are entering Canada before or on the expiry date shown on your visa. Please note that this document cannot be extended; therefore, you should make sure to use it before it expires."

Pero ayun sa mga thread na nabasa ko dito sa global forum at pinoy forum, 1 year lang validity ng visa (from medical? not so sure of the beginning date na naka include sa visa. Pero definitely close to that date. Then, pag di ka or family member naka-pasok sa canada within that period of time, wala na. You need to apply for another FSW program. Or in your case, your husband needs to apply for himself.
ufff, medyo tight nga. anyways, i'll probably just cross the bridge when i get there... salamat po RPeralta :)

Good afternoon sa ating lahat.

I have already inquired about this almost two weeks ago. Hoping to have more opinions or advises from those who have the same case as ours or may idea about sa case namin, mag-iinquire ulit ako.

I would like to know if meron sa atin dito ang nakakaalam o naka-encounter ng applicant o partner ng applicant na may rheumatic heart disease (RHD). Will this condition present a big issue during the medicals and the succeeding process?

My wife has RHD kasi since she was a kid. Sa awa ng Diyos, even with the condition, we were blessed with a child naman but pinayuhan kami ng cardiologist at OB niya na d na muna dapat sundan unless magpa-opera.

Although an operation is the ultimate cure, we were advised naman that it is not immediately required. Sa ngayon, regular check-up kami with her cardiologist and she has her maintenance medicine to control the stickiness of her blood. Aside from that, wala namang issues in fact she was not advised to stop working (she is an accountant). Hindi rin sya binawalan mag-walking exercise except that she just have to avoid excessive physical stress.

May nabasa ako sa CIC website mismo about "medical exemptions". I have the link but I am not allowed here to post links. Anyway, the ff. are stated in that link:

Exemptions from inadmissibility on grounds of excessive demand
As per paragraphs R24, R117(g) and R139(4), excessive demand determinations under A38(1)(c) do not apply to:

* spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner
* a dependent child (including an adopted a child) of the sponsor, or of the sponsor's spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner;
* Convention Refugees;
* protected persons.

Although such individuals must undertake a full immigration medical examination, they are not assessed for excessive demand.

I am not sure if this is applicable in our case, but I do hope and pray that, with this guidelines, everything will turn out fine in our application.

Appreciate your sound inputs, guys.

May God bless us and our families in this endeavor and always.

Thank you.

No direct experience on this but we have a family friend who successfully migrated with his wife who has lupus. They've been in Canada more than a decade already. I believe as long as the condition is well-managed, not contagious and as long as you can get clearances and such from your wife's specialists, you'll be ok. Maingat ang Canada sa discrimmination of any kind so in my opinion there is nothing to really worry about.
