I mean if conservatives take most seats but not the majority, they need to form a minority government with the other parties. It seems impossible for them to form the minority gov with NDP and liberals. And of course, other parties will not have enough seats. Is it how it works?
Say if the conservatives get most seats followed by liberals and NDP and none gets a majority alone. NDP can choose the next PM but why should they choose liberals who are at the 2nd place just because they are left-leaning? If I was the NDP party leader, I would want to be the Prime Minister for 2 years in a coalition government and hand over the PM position to the party that accepts my deal. If liberals get 2nd place, then it's the best chance for the NDP party to taste the power and if they do good, liberals will be swallowed in subsequent elections. So NDP should use this great chance if Liberals come 2nd.

JT's approval polls dip too. He's definitely in no position to extend travel bans; that'd be the nail in the coffin. Also while I can't fully form the reasoning behind it, something tells me JT will order MM to revive FSW asap. His votes are already bleeding to the NDP. The Cons are getting stronger too. I think his only option is to be more liberal than the NDP for now to slow that bleeding. This might revive FSW (the level of my wishful thinking disgusts me but yeah).

Yes, it would be the best scenario for NDP. As they have some fundamental differences with conservatives, it seems really hard for conservatives to form a coalition government with NDP. Seems NDP is the real winner in this election :)

Conservatives gaining power would probably be better for people awaiting ITA; but for people waiting for PPR we can’t be so sure (it might be alot better or it could bring an unpleasant surprise). Overall, a Liberal win with a minority presence is a safer bet. The liberals must not be afforded absolute power to further mess up the system.

Just like democrats in the US. Those loudmouths say they are for ALL but discriminate against legal immigrants. They love illegals. Wait, did I do a Trump?

On the other hand, conservatives have an attractive plan on legal immigration but would never implement it. Trump wanted points-based immigration in the US but did even bother to make it real.
Trump’s point based system is more in line with CEC than FSW style. Also, it would drastically cut overall immigration, instead of pooling all the immigration numbers into the point based system.

Yes, a minority government would need to align with at least one more party to gain enough control to make policies and run more smoothly but we can’t be so sure of NDP’s stance. Nothing is impossible in the world of politics. Wouldn’t be surprised if they liaise with the Cons if they won

Makes no sense. Why would it be better for people waiting for ITA over PPR? Is it because you are waiting for an ITA ?
