I am afraid if the IRCC employees will have to do election related work and stay away from their normal tasks.
I hope this is not the case.
I ask this because in India we have government staff doing election duty during election season.
Why would immigration employees have to conduct electoral processes? That’s highly unlikely especially for a developed nation

They are running out of reasons. The election is a good reason to justify the good-for-nothing IRCC workers.
Maybe. Now question is how do they announce that to the public? I'd love to see that lol I'd laugh a lot.

I remember my reaction when I first saw the "but they pay taxes", I think it was after the megadraw.

Who doesn't pay taxes in Canada:

- Cats
- Dogs
- Squirrels
- FSWs

On a bright note: FSW would definitely come back right after the election (while I still think they're irrelevant). And by right after I mean like the very next week. So Oct at the latest but damn am I tired of waiting.

First of all, we're not living in medieval times. IRCC can not do anything, just because they feel like it. IRCC is a government organisation which is fully funded by immigrants to process immigration files and make lawful decisions based on facts and proof. We're not running from a war or poverty, and there are many other immigration options in other developed countries for qualified people. We as lawful clients expect, and DEMAND (I really don't care if you like this word or not) IRCC to do its lawful duty in the normal processing times. Many people has already challenged IRCC at Federal Court and got mandamus letters because what IRCC doing now is illegal, and unlawful. IRCC doesn't owe me an 'approval' but they do owe me a fair, lawful and timely 'decision'.

They need to pass a new law to "revamp their immigration system". IRCC doesn't make laws, and no political party has showed any intention to pass such law so far. So this claim is weak, baseless and without doubt untrue.

At the end of the day, sooner or later we'll all get our PRs, but this injustice that we had to endure during all this time will never be forgotten by thousands of skilled immigrants who're currently outside of Canada.
lol, no. It's a government organisation funded by Canadian taxpayers, whatever prospective immigrants pay for their immigration application procedures are a drop in the bucket.

They are free to make whatever decisions on where and when they accept immigrants, their mandate is set by the government elected by Canadians. Not anyone else. Sure, you can file your petitions and complaints, but you are allowed them based on Canadian laws and standards which afford you the applicant those rights. Nothing more. If tomorrow they changed them you wouldn't be able to do anything.

It's not a "claim", it's a statement of fact. I made no comment on the probability of them doing that. Did they have to pass a law to only accept CEC candidates? Nope.

It's not because you paid a thousand dollars that you are going to dictate and demand things. They can easily return your money and accept someone else.

You have a very entitled perspective. Ask all those people who got their applications cancelled because they implemented Express Entry where all their demands got them.

You're not in a position to dictate anything.
