Does anyone use the CRS calculator app for iphone? It is showing me diffrent numbers when I enter my profile... I see 475 on the app and 460 on the gov website. I assume the gov calculator is correct and up to date or am I missing something?

Either way points on profile are the only one that count.

There's a technical issue that's preventing them from conducting a large draw(as per IRCC).
Sweet Lord!
Can I get few millions for writing a cron job in perl (so that no one else can read it) to generate draws? I mean the other guy got millions for writing the most basic app for covid vaccine questionaire!

IRCC would be such a comedy if it was not so tragic

I had 2 questions

a) Won't point 4 apply to point 5 as well, meaning Lambda college won't qualify for masters PGWP?

b) From what I understand most lambda clowns who had graduate sometimes even masters degrees in their home countries, traditionally take graduate level courses in those Canadian lambda colleges because the bar for getting visa for such courses was low, whereas the bar for master is high. (funny I have seen some of these clowns posting in this forum that their agent for Student permit application asked them to hide their home country degree, they were asking for ways they can show it IRCC in the PR application :p.) Shouldn't IRCC then make the process of such masters applications stringent and take the bar for even higher?
After the announcement, only public universities and colleges are eligible for PGWPs and they are audited by the auditor general. Besides that, the Indian gravy train is over. Diplomatic tensions killed all hope of Indians looking towards Canada as destination for higher education. Australia will be the top choice now. Even the US is handing out study permits like Candy so they will probably flock to the US as well.

Very odd phrasing tbh. There wasn't a gravy train since 2020 for those who had low CRS scores or those who expected diploma mill route to work for them.

As restrictions are increased, they'll be increased for every single country. Getting PR(outland or inland) has been impacted for most in the same(apart from student who were extremely casual about studying in Canada).

Reduced international student immigration is good for students and Canadians. I believe a lot more int'l students won't come to Canada and won't get scammed by Canadians(employment, housing, etc).

By gravy train, I meant that private colleges and some public colleges were relying on Indian students and aggressively recruiting them. That’s over now. I completely agree with you. Public Universities and Colleges have a primary duty to serve Canadians and Permanent residents since they are funded by our tax dollars. International students should only be a very limited presence in these institutions. Institutions should hold the provinces accountable for funding and if they don’t have a sustainable model of operating then let them shut down.

I guess immigration sentiment in Canada (and all around the world) is changing fast. Every time I scroll Reddit, the Canadian subs always have some news piece about mass immigration. It's interesting that Canada might not have easy PR anymore. Lucky I got mine already.. it's time to MAKE CANADA GREAT AGAIN!!!
Getting involved is a great way to make Canada great again. Do volunteer, join local groups, etc - get involved. Getting involved within your community is going to teach you a lot more on what can fix Canada. It is also a great way to build empathy towards important causes in Canada.

This is misinformation. The poster is confusing between curriculum licensing agreement in private colleges and private universities. Private university offering degree programs will keep on getting PGWP, provided they fulfill eligibility criteria.

https://www.cicnews.com/2024/01/ircc-announces-new-eligibility-criteria-for-the-post-graduation-work-permit-0142511.html#gs.3h31mk

To be eligible for a PGWP, international students must have:
  • Completed studies in an academic, vocational or professional training program that is at least eight months long at an eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
  • Study program must have led to a degree, diploma or certificate
  • Held full time student status in Canada during every academic session of the program of study and included as part of their post-graduation work permit application
  • Obtained a transcript and an official letter from the DLI confirming the applicant has met all requirements to complete their program of study
The student must also have graduated from:
  • A public post-secondary institution, such as a college, a trade or technical school, a university, or a CEGEP (in Quebec)
  • A private post-secondary school (in Quebec) that operates under the same rules as public schools in Quebec;
  • A private secondary or post-secondary school (in Quebec) that offers qualifying programs of 900 hours or longer and results in the issuance of a diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP); or
  • Canadian private school that can award degrees under provincial law (for example, Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree) but only if the student was enrolled in a study program that leads to a degree as authorized by the province.

New generation of students will come via new route of masters study in god knows what. Do bachelors in India (IGNOU or numerous distance learning programs are very cheap in India), come to Canada to do masters in bogus subjects in times as low as 6-7 months and then do a Coop. Earn money and apply for 3 year PGWP.
As it stands today, the duration of PGWP looks to be correlated with the time spend studying. So a 1-yr program should only get a 1-yr PGWP. Only those who complete a 2 year program can get a PGWP upto 3 years.

Hi, does anyone know if UCW canada is part of the curriculum licensing arrangement? pleasee help
Shoot them an email and ASK explicitly. If you are paying or planning to pay them for their course work ask them.
