Wait they have an open work permit for students in Canada?!! That explains why some don't even have one year experience to fall under CEC lol. They are probably using that open work permit to drive Uber and got comfy with it. 3 years is a long time to find atleast a year of skilled work if you actually try. OPT in the US makes it clear that you only work in something related to your study and you get a one way ticket back home if you're unemployed for 90 days ...

Most probably they graduated recently and it took sometime for them to find a job which would get them that one year of work experience to qualify as CEC

Yes, PGWP works exactly like an OWP but it cannot extended.

They leave temporarily, remain eligible for CEC, apply when CEC draws INEVITABLE resume in a couple of months, and get expedited processing. Don't get too happy. CEC is coming back. It's a matter of time.

Also omicron driven cases AND hospitalizations far far higher than previous peaks that cause Canada to shut everything down. They'll bring back protections and extensions for PGWPs again.

What who in this world wants to move from Japan to Canada????? This guy should be totally unaware of what he is signing up for

But I heard work culture in Japan is trash though, usually people work to live but Japanese live to work lol
Japan has serious depression problems. Sucide rates are high for a super developed country. Many people stay single. Lot of issues too.

You troll but that's a real slippery slope lol. If the government can cancel PR they granted for any reason other than reasonable ones like residency and criminal/misrepresentation stuff, everyone's PR is at risk depending on who's in power. Then they then extend it to strip citizenship of say, naturalized citizens who decide to vote or run against them as well. No way will this kinda proposal hold up in any court anyway unless the country becomes a dictatorship
Yeah very difficult to void those easy PRs but a strong con government could do it. Either way, it's so pleasing to even dream about seeing those cockroaches get kicked out. I like it when they deliver my food to my door. Fucking dumbass had to become a PR to drive UberEats.

Provinces could make vaccination mandatory, says federal health minister
Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos says vaccination remains the only way out of the pandemic
Provinces are likely to introduce mandatory vaccination policies in the coming months to deal with surging COVID-19 caseloads, Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos said today.

"What we see now is that our health care system in Canada is fragile, our people are tired, and the only way that we know to get through COVID-19, this variant and any future variant, is through vaccination," Duclos said.

Duclos said that while rapid tests, masking and social distancing are useful tools, they won't end the pandemic on their own.

"Fifty per cent of hospitalizations now, in Quebec, are due to people not having been vaccinated," he said. "That's a burden on health care workers, a burden on society which is very difficult to bear and for many people difficult to understand.

"That's why I'm signalling this is a conversation which I believe provinces and territories, in support with the federal government, will want to have over the next weeks and months."

Duclos said that while discussions about mandatory vaccination policies are not taking place now, he believes that, based on his "personal understanding of what we see internationally and domestically and in my conversations [with] health ministers over the last few weeks," the discussion will start in the coming weeks or months.

He stressed that it's up to the provinces to decide whether to implement mandatory vaccination policies.

Duclos said the provinces are facing a perfect storm of record-setting case numbers, a shortage of health care workers and up to seven million eligible Canadians still unvaccinated.

"What we can do … is provide vaccines, tests, personal protective equipment," he said. "We can provide tracing support, we can provide all sorts of other non-human resources types of assistance."

Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc said there are limits to what the federal government can do to ease shortages of health care staff.

"It's no surprise that provincial and territorial governments have considerably more health human resources, for example, than would the government of Canada," he said.

Quebec, Europe strengthen vaccine policies
Earlier this week, Quebec's Health Minister Christian Dubé announced that Quebecers will need to show proof that they are fully vaccinated in order to enter government-run liquor and cannabis shops as of Jan. 18.

Dubé said half of the people with COVID-19 being admitted to ICUs in the province are unvaccinated and that the new restrictions are needed to slow down hospital admissions.

The minister also said the Quebec government will soon expand the use of the vaccination passport to other non-essential businesses, such as personal care services. That announcement is expected in the coming days.

"By limiting the places they can go, we're limiting their contacts," Dubé said, referring to the unvaccinated.

"If you don't want to get vaccinated, stay home."

A spokesperson for Quebec's health minister said Friday, however, that mandatory vaccination is not something the province is looking at yet.

In a social media post, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said his government will not make vaccines mandatory.

My point is these people are being forced to leave now when they definitely didn't have to because IRCC is totally incompetent. CEC prioritization in the future is as obvious as sky being blue and water being wet.

The Japanese job market isn't in great shape as well. Lot of new graduates almost never find meaningful work if they can't find something in the first year after graduation. The older generation take longer to retire and take up the market. They have issues but the weird part is Japan is the preferred destination for many Americans/Canadians who want to move out according to surveys. A lot of them are probably weebs but still

the Japanese kinks and weird interests are much worse, they made many genres and subgenres under movies and porn that humanity feels sick and will have to re-think why are we existing. btw i am tryna download a japanese movie that created a subgenre, lack of seeders and it's stuck now. hehe
