divanciuc. Good day, actually they are right that Canada is not in need of lawyers so there is a high possibility that your occupation will not be included on the list. However (if this also applies to you) you can also apply if you have another occupation that will be on the list. In our country(Philippine) it is a prerequisite that you must have a bachelors degree before you can go and study law. For example, if before taking up law, you graduated with a degree in B.S. Accountancy, and accountant is included on the list, you can apply or have your credentials assesed using your degree in accountancy and not Law.
 
What's important is that you have at least one year of work experience in an occupation listed in the occupation list. Simply having a degree in that field is not sufficient. SO, if you graduated with a degree in accounting but never actually worked as an accountant, then even if accountant is listed in the occupation list, you will not be eligible to apply.
