Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding foreign work experience under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program.
I understand that for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), according to IRCC website , up to 2 weeks of paid leave within a 52-week work experience is generally considered reasonable. However, I couldn’t find a similar explicit mention for FSW.
In my case, I completed exactly 52 weeks (365 days) of continuous full-time employment with the same employer. My contract ended, and I left the company right after, so I cannot add any extra “buffer” time beyond the 52 weeks.
During this period, I took a 6-business-day paid leave. Devided on 2 months August 2 business days & September 4 business days.My bank statements and pay slips confirm that I received my full salary, and I remained employed the entire time without any interruption.
I’ve also checked with AI tools, which suggest that such short paid leave does not break continuity. However, I’d like to confirm with people who have experience or reliable information.
Given that my experience is exactly 52 weeks with no extra margin, would this 6-day paid leave affect the continuity requirement, or is my work experience still considered continuous under IRCC rules?
Thank you in advance for your insights!
