FSW backlog and action plan

Hi,
Canada is working towards backlog elimination i found some useful links, thought to share with you guys.
canada may decide to pay fee refund those they decide shouldnt be admitted. I am not creating panic i just want that we should be prepared for the situation, since yet not taken decision but they can do the same in future.

they have already taken two decisions based on these consultations.

1- Increased FSW levels by 10,000 for 2012 (a step towards elimination of backlog)

2- 10 year super visa for parents/grandparents + 2 year pause of accepting new applications + requirement to get private health insurance for super visa holders ( steps towards decreasing backlogs + reducing welfare cost on their free halth care system)

so generally these are very positive steps-

1 do you think it will make dent to backlog..... earlier capping of FSW apps has not yet made any difference.
2 thats really a concrete step.

by Capping or little increase in level -projection is it will take 7-8 years to eliminate backlog completely and anytime in future they can decide to take such steps because they think aplicants (pre fab) are getting older and less desirable.

these ranges are for only plannin purposes...actual numbers will go up to 80 - 85 K......

they wont be taking new applications under parents/grandparents stream so that takes a lot of workload off vo resources - and that time can be allocated to problem areas and FSW is one problem they will anxiously be looking at - i personally believe they want to start 2014 with an in time immig program...remember many applicants from 144 K backlog in FSW stream will cancel their applications and some will be rejected so my point is they should be able to finish this backlog by 2013....

Well said Canlove. If they are really serious about clearing the FSW backlog, they should put an immediate pause on new applications just as they've done with the Grandparents and parents program. Increasing the FSW by a measly 10,000 is certainly not IMO going to put much of a dent in the backlog; the numbers need to go up drastically.....
