Why one of my GCMS report's notes is empty? There are 14 notes in total. But the latest note entered by Review Officer does not contain any text. The text field is empty. Any idea why is that?

This is just too much! I regret ever applying for FSW! I rushed to complete the requirements. I should have just took my time and applied for EE last year.

Dear my friends,

Is it possible that as a Canadian PR, we change our nationality (citizenship)?

I have a friend who is a Canadian PR and plans to change his citizenship from Indonesia to Singapore.

Will this action affect his Canadian PR? Because Canadian PR is based on his original which was informed during the submission package to CIC.

FYI, Indonesia and Spore both only admit a single citizenship principle.

Thanks

4 years later you can become Canadian citizen. In that case you'll have to renounce Singapore/Indonesia citizenship anyway.

Is there any pressing reason to change citizenship now? Kindly try to maintain your status same before getting Canadian Passport

You can apply in ee/pnp anytime you want to. FSW14 application didn't restrict you from this.

Hi Desertfox. Still contemplating though cause I did not keep photocopies of some documents I passed during my FSW. Which means, I have to collate the documents again.

It is quite difficult to get some of the docs cause I am based in SG and the rest of my previous employment were in the Philippines and they were not in the most accessible places.

Actually, I am trying to be patient. But it can really be frustrating when those you know who have applied for EE already have their visas.

I suggest to give priority to Singapore Citizenship rather than the Canadian PR. Singapore Citizenship means a lot for Asians and that too it is very tougher than Canadian Citizenship.

I'll say, Singapore Citizenship is the best, if and only if you want to stay in Asia. I have been living in Singapore since many years and have studied here as well. Its certainly alot more tougher in today's circumstances to get Singapore PR than Canadian PR. Primarily because of 1st a stipulated quota for races secondly non-transparent system.

So one need to take a right decision at right time according to suitability.

Hi bro Hongkong2012 & Nicksar,

If he went to become a Sporean while maintaining his Canadian PR in Spore, will he need to report it to High Commission Canad in Spore that he already changed his passport?

For sure, his Canadian PR using his original passport and biodata is linked to the CiC.

I thought it would somehow jeopardize his Canadian PR.

Thanks

Alhamdulillah, I want to share a good news and expect a answer to my query.

Hi everyone.

My timeline is given below:

Application submitted: August 2014
PER received: December 2014
AOR received: January 2015
Medical done: November 2015
Passport request: January 2016
Visa issued: January 2016
Passport with Visa received: January 2016
Visa office: Singapore
NOC code: 2133

Now I have a question to fellow PR applicants and experienced immigrants.
I plan to visit Canada for one week during April/May 2016. Then I will go there permanently after June 2018.
Is it ok for keeping my PR status? From July 2018 I will stay there permanently.

Please give reply with detailed explanation.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I Agree. But we are never sure what will happen until someone actually goes through the process

I guess shouldn't be a problem. I am planning to do the same. I'll do a landing in last quarter of 2016 (Tentative October 2016). I plan to go around start of 2018. The PR card is issued 5 years from the date you land. and PR obligation is 2 out of last 5 years. So if you plan in May 2016 than your PR will be valid till May 2021. Landing in 2018 will accomplish your PR obligation.

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong
