Orange Girl is June and mine is May, so it makes no sense she got PPR before me so the fact your a month behind does not necessarily guarantee your next in line

Yes, it's quite strange. I think it depends on the visa officer assigned to your case.

I got my MR later than some of July applicants, it's not clear what triggers the next stage in processing. Good luck to all of you who are waiting for PPR, you will get it soon too!

Thank you. I am sure yours will be updated soon too!

Thank you. I can see from the SS that the timelines are unpredictable. Some applicants get third line in a matter of days after the doc uploads the file, while others have to endure some weeks of waiting. If your checks are complete, you might receive PPR in the coming week. Fingers crossed for your success and +1

This is a good one, thanks. I will call them tomrrow to check.

The issue with requesting CPC-O to arrange visa stamp in near visa office is that there is no near one with Cairo office closed.

I will share the feedback after calling them tomorrow isA.

Thanks!

I called today VFSGlobal Egypt and they advised that they don't support the immigrant visa stamping or sending passport to Ottawa.

I called then Canada embassy, and thy are fully closed.

DHL, FEDEX, TNT, and UPS advised that I need to get interior ministry approval for sending the passport, and for receiving it, or it will be held in customs!!! :( :( :(

Tomorrow, I will send CPC-O asking for their advise and support and will update the thread.

Anyone has another idea?

Thanks.

You can travel to Tel Aviv to have the visa stamped at that location. It's an hour flight.

CPC-O applicant hregailah (app. filed July 3, 2014) got PPR.
July is already kicking. Very excited :)

In the PPR email, it states that you can request CPC-O to have the visa printed in another office which should be Cairo in your case, and if you check their website you'll see that the Visa Section is still working and if you visit the VFS Global website in Egypt you'll see that they are still dealing with the visa office and they send passports to them. Only the Embassy is closed not the visa section!!

What CIC says is that their office is closed for good at that location

Yes! In order to submit your passport, you must use the services of VFS Global and I contacted them today and they informed me that they are still sending passports for stamping, also you'll see that on the website of the Canadian Embassy in Egypt that their visa section is still open.

Temporary closure of the visa office in Cairo
Please note that for security reasons the office in Cairo is temporarily closed until further notice. CIC continues to monitor developments closely.
Temporary visa applications (visitors, students and workers) can be submitted online.
Applicants can also submit their documents and fees to Visa application centres (VACs) in Cairo. VACs improve service by helping clients avoid unnecessary delays due to incomplete applications, and by facilitating the reliable and secure transfer of documents between clients and visa offices.

I know! But this is from the actual website of the Canadian Embassy in Cairo:
The premises of the Embassy of Canada in Cairo located at 26 Kamel El Shenawy in Garden City are closed on a temporary basis. Visa services continue to be available.

Also after contacting VFS, they told me the visa office is still working. This is what they say on their website:

If you have received notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, your passport(s) along with the request letter may be submitted through this Visa Application Centre.
