I will send my passports later in the day.

It just occured to me. If you have a Polish e-passport, you are visa exempt and consequently you will get no RFV letter and will recieve COPR in your mailbox within 20 days.

Yes, I have a Polish e-passport & I sent notarized copies of the passport with original application. I appreciate your information especially about 20 days ... that means I should keep waiting :-X without getting crazy How are you? Where are you? Mine is 99 days since PER but after the weekend it will be 101 days.
If its a long weekend it will be 102 days since PER.

Hopefully I get mine soon.

Did they send PCC request & RPRF also along with MR ?

Hello everybody,

I need your kind help in a small matter please.
I got the RFV email like 2 days ago, and I understood from the email that CIC do not send the passports outside of North America after CoPR is stamped on the passport, and that it is recommended to use a Canadian Mail.
I live in Sudan (in Africa), and I have a brother in Canada. So my questions are:

1- Can I send my passport to my brother in Canada, who will send it to CIC with the return envelope, and then when he recieves the passport back he will send it to me via courier?

2- If I do the above, do I need to update my mailing address in CIC to my brother's mail address in Canada?

yes u can send the passports to ottawa and include the mail u recieved with the passports so as to avoid any complications with security check during the couriering of the passports, u have to include the canada post sticker of ur brother address in canada, or easier is to send them to ur brother via ups or something and he send to ottawa and receive back i prefer this, and no i don't think u need to update ur mailing address as ur brother will mention his address on the canada post lables,

I shared my time line yesterday, but any ways here it is copied from ECAS:

1.We received your application for permanent residence on October 2, 2014.

2.We started processing your application on March 3, 2015.

3.Medical results have been received. (This was updated in April 11)

4.A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. (This was updated in May 14th)


But I dont know how to find out who my officer is, please show me how and i will update you as soon as I can.



Returning to my question, I prefer to send to my brother as you said, but I was worried that if I dont update my mailing address information to my brother's then there would be conflict for CIC between their database about me and the new mail address.

imn't expert with that but the egyptians i knew who send their passports to ottawa has never mentioned the address, and one thing if ur address is outside canada they willnot send it via canada post,

ur brother has to purchase returning label from canada post and include it inside the envelope when he send to ottawa thats how they will return the passport to him as he will mention the returning address on these labels.

the other option is to print in cairo but as you have ur brother there so its easier, and the only risk is the security check done during sending to ur brother and receiving from ur brother.
