I believe we are not going to have any news from Ottawa today due to its extreme cold weather :( Too much snow, messy roads and windchills at -34o!!

Lol! -34 deg. is not extreme where I live, we experience -40 yet schools and offices are still functional, except if there is a 24 hrs icy rain, but even at that we still go to work and school, except if there is a special announcement. Provided schools and offices are open in Ottawa CPC will work.

Thanks for sharing. I was so upset when I saw the snow storm from yesterday to today here in Toronto that I would bet Ottawa would be lot worse and not having schools and offices working today. Now, let's pray for any update from them! :) Have a nice day mates!

Boss, applicants who dwell in Canada without PR are still considered temporary residents..therefore they also receive both and would have to become a "landed immigrant"

I got one question... :)

Applicants who are already in Canada ... When they get there PASSPORT back from CPC -O after stamping, do passport also contains Immigrant visa on passport + COPR or only COPR ..??

I know about applicants already residing outside of Canada gets both but I'm just concerned about already inland applicants ..??

Thanks in advance

Hi All,
I see lot of updates about landing in Canada/ crossing the border to get the PR... I'm expecting my passports back this week and planning for Feb end visit to Canada.. Initially I was considering to take a flight to Toronto, but I guess crossing the border by road is easier... Could you please address my below questions?

- I'm in CA, USA...Is there a way I can take the road option from Seattle? If so, what is the name of the place where I'll cross the border?
- Will they return back the passports immediately? I'm planning to give my friend's address in Toronto for sending the PR as I have to come back to US and settle stuffs before I can move to Canada? I'm on H1B visa..
- How long should I stay in Canada? If there is no restriction, I'd come back the next day itself or even the same day.

Anyone else from West coast planning the same?

Guru

I am surprised , Up to now, I haven't received any news from CPC . I don't know what I should to do. I sent 4 emails to CPC >:(
Sending multiple emails will not help.
Make sure all details are provided when you send an email and wait for the approximate duration (Both are mentioned in the auto response email).
CPC and CIO both advise that you keep communication with them to a minimum.

Guys -

I am May 22nd applicant, I am done with RPRF, MR, and Indian PCC back in Oct/ November. I got my 3rd line update in October itself. They extended my timeline for FBI PCC request and I sent it within allowed timeline. My FBI PCC reached them on Jan 5th. I haven't got any confirmation from them whether PCC and RPRF is received by them.

Now it seems my application is stuck. They didn't even replied for my Jan 2nd query asking for confirmation of receipt of PCC and RPRF. I know Patience is key, but this being a black box is now making me think of my options in my control apart from wait. Shall I go ahead with GCMS?

Looking for your comments.

Thanks

They have a policy of not providing confirmation of docs receipt. You can check it out yourself in the automated email response.

Ah...I see it now. I just checked it - never read automated email response in entirety. What do you think of going for GCMS?

Man no need to be worried as its clearly obvious that your FBI PCC was the doc that delayed your PPR, usually all security checks are conducted immediately all PCCs are received. Security check depends on individual applicant and can take longer. Concerning whether all your docs has been received or not, didn't you use a tracking postal/courier agent when sending? this is the best way to know if your docs were received by the CPC office. its only in RARE cases the immigration offices reply you on "documents received"

I suggest that you be patient bro :)

here is my 2 cents, last month a bunch of ppr came in at the same time. I am guessing they would queue all the final review ones together and decide on 1 shot.

Why not? It has no effect on the processing of the application and you get to see some interesting information.
