Hi,

I applied for FSW-2014 under the category of 4011 (University lecturer / professor). My application date is 31st July. I got PER on 21st November, 2014 and AOR letter is not received yet. Visa office is Singapore.

I am wondering whether quitting my current job will have any impact on my PR processing. Do you think if I quit my job, I will be ineligible to get the PR? Would I have to notify CIC regarding the change of my employment?

The reason of quitting my job is to live with my husband in Germany.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

N_rockstar hi.
Quitting your job does not matter as far as CIC is concerned. Their condition for experience is that you should have a job experience for at least one year within the last 10 years in the NOC, which in this case is 4011. But they may want to verify from your former employer who issued your reference letter if you actually worked in the university you claimed. Please maintain a cordial and steady relationship with your former boss/registrar/VC so that he/she will be able to attest to your job experience when CIC gets in touch with them for verification. that will even attest to your good character. Please notify the Canadian visa office servicing your country of the change of job accordingly. If you already have a PER, it is usually stated in the letter that you notify your service Canadian visa office of any changes in the course of your processing. Go ahead on your re-location to Germany. What stage of the application are you now?
