I have no idea to say. did he get the pacakage back ? did CIC replied as this is reason for the rejection?

Hi MFMehdi,
I am afraid that bad news is coming your way, if you have mentioned Islamabad as your visa office. If you are from Pakistan then your visa office is London, not Islamabad. Islamabad is not authorize to process PR applications, they can process only temp work/study/tourist apps. You will be very lucky if they accept your application as it is. Try to contact CIO and explain your concern.

I would suggest prepare a fresh application and send it to CIO without waiting for result. And don't forget to mention London as your visa office.
I don't see that mentioning the wrong visa office can be a cause of rejection. How would an applicant know whether it is Pakistan or London?

How can he/she contact CIO? Is there any phone or email id?

Dear Forum,

My CC in not charged till date, whereas I see people getting charged for the applications received after mine i.e. May 6, 2014. I hope this doesn't indicate something bad.

NOC: 1112
Application date: 06-05-2014
Signed by: Mike
Visa office: Islamabad

Any comments will be much appreciated.
Well the fact that you mention Islamabad as your VO is alarming by itself .. and could mean there might have been other mistakes in your app.

I believe if your CC is not charged by now things don't look too good... I am not sure what else to say but don't loose hope until the app is back with you ::) ::)

Have you checked what CIC guidelines for PCC are for these countries? BTW, very unique places so if I may ask what took you to these places, as in what do you do?

CIC Link for PCC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

PS - I notice in both cases for people living outside those countries you have already done what is suggested by CIC. So I guess that is it!

PPS - Write an e-mail to Afghan embassy in India (also copying the email ID given in CIC guide for Afghan embassy in Canada) explaining them why you are asking such a letter. That way even if you don't receive a response you have material proof that you have tried your best to get the PCC. Attach that to application package and send, explaining the circumstance in the cover letter. If needed do the same for Rwanda. Good luck!

Hi,

One of my friend application was returned as his points were reduced to 66 due to IELTS score. Because he got 6 in writing so they calculate 16 points for his IELTS.

His IELTS score was L-7.5 R-7 S-7 w-6.

I am worried now, even I got 6 in writing.

Please advise whether to give IELTS again or not...
Hi Canrushi,

Are you sure your friend's packet was returned because of this reason?
Could you please reconfirm. If your friends ielts is according to you have mentioned,
then he should get 21 points as already clarified by seniors too.

@SMFAHAD

Yes, knowing something does not give anyone the right to be sarcastic, neither is he trying to be. He never tried or mean to insult u. He tried to tell u a reality. I know why u took it as sarcasm, here is a partial quote from ur recent comment "as I have been asking questions since long". Most of us did not "ask questions since long", we searched and verified our understanding. Although, i don't like hitting on others but 70% of ur posts are queries or asking seniors to reply urgently to ur post [within 10 mins], rest are either thank you or a very rude comment such as

SMFAHAD said:
Unfortunately a very poor reply .. Can any one else read my query and reply

Sir

All instructions are very clear on WES website for Pakistani applicants.

How ever do submit equivalency certificate from HEC , along with other required.
CA / ACMA are treated equivalent to Pakistani Master Degree

Stay Blessed
With such feedback, Oscar/Kollins/Ashif_eee/Century may have a big heart but I prefer not to respond to queries of ppl with such attitude. Many a times, others don't like my comment or i don't like quality of someone's comments, we politely ask senior's opinion or get into discussion for the sake of improving the quality of a response to required level but never snub the person who has been so generous to take time out of his family time to help us.

Oscar's opinion (expressed in his referred comment) is not because of his knowledge but other's laziness to search for the answer. Most of the time, we also just google it before answering. Do u think, we have memorized all these addresses and info? Its not even possible to bookmark everything.

However, even the best manager's use optimal mix of motivation, rewards, training and punishment/penalty/insult (for lack of better words). Use of sarcasm falls under one of these categories, u know which one and who deserves it.

I need not to defend myself on gender bias, but u can't say that i have never replied to you, read below to refresh ur memory

Get them passports!!!

Well, if they don't have passports, what abt their degrees or any other document, which shows name is given/last name format. If its not mentioned, you can use normal practice in your country. If u r from Pakistan, following break-up will be used by default by NADRA/Passport office

Given Name: Muhammad Nazir Last Name: Siddiqui
Given Name: Khairul Last Name:Nisa

However, MAKE SURE THAT ONCE THEY APPLY FOR PASSPORT TO VISIT U, SAME FORMAT IS USED.
Yes, i accept i reply more frequently to seniors, as its more of a discussion. I am not as selfless as Oscar/Ashif_eee/Century/Kollins and some others who spend there time in answering to something which has been mentioned couple of time and i am sure that any1 who is following the forum for more than a week can reply to it. I only give my opinion, when i think i can add value. On the other hand, Seniors even reply to save ur time and give confidence that response is coming from some experienced guy.

And what does this reflect on you , the way you have replied ... Do you honestly think you are behaving like a manager by being sarsactic .. This post I remember you wrote exactly for someone else so what it reflects on you brother ... If one knows certain thing that does not give him/her the freedom to write sarcism ... I said what I have been noticing since last one month since I joined this forum ... Ashif/ Century/Kollins or even you have always come to our help ... I know you don't need to and Even I don't expect it !!

Very interesting, but thats nature.

Governments of developing countries try to encourage local IT companies to provide services to other economies, thinking that they are helping the ordinary average man working 9-5 with a family to feed.

But in reality, taxes and fees being paid from the local IT companies are not being channelled to improve the local environment but diverted to private accounts.

Now this is going on, where the US, Canada and other coutries create opportunities for the average, ordinary 9-5 guy the government of developing countries can't do anything and envisage a drop in future earnings via taxes and fees.

How I wish governments that experience massive exodus from thier countries can buckle up and do the right thing to encourage their citizens to not want to emigrate - by providing the basics of life such as affordable healthcare, social insurance, quality education thats affordable, housing, security, infrastructures. These are the areas where developed countries have got it right.

SETBACK FOR INDIAN IT - Canada tightens immigration norms for skilled workers

Like the US, Canada too has over the past few weeks tightened significantly the regulations governing its skilled worker immigration visas, a move that could hurt Indian IT companies' ability to win and service orders in that country.

IT industry body Nasscom sees the changes to be so potentially disruptive that on Friday it sent mails to external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and industry & commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman requesting “urgent intervention”. The matter is expected to come up for discussion on Tuesday during the visit of Canada's minister of citizenship and immigration, Chris Alexander, to India.

“We are disappointed that Canada has chosen to follow an insular path rather than a progressive policy as adopted by the EU recently with regard to treating skilled workers transfer under intra-corporate transfers,” Nasscom president R Chandrashekhar told TOI.

Indian companies use over 15,000 Canadian work visas annually.

The visa that's used the most to work for short periods in Canada is called the Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) visa. It's similar to the L1 visa in the US, and can be used by companies to transfer specialist employees, in say India, to their subsidiary in Canada. On June 9, the Canadian government introduced changes that make it more difficult to understand what kind of people would be eligible to use the visa. The change states that it must be people with “uncommon knowledge”.
The implication is that profiles normally considered specialists in the tech sector will no longer be adequate under the new rubric of ‘uncommon knowledge'.

Gagan Sabharwal, deputy director of global trade development in Nasscom, said the Canadian government's failure to define ‘uncommon knowledge' has

meant that Canadian embassies do not know how to implement the new norm.
“So they are putting the onus on applicants to prove they fit the requirement.

They have brought in a huge level of subjectivity and ambiguity. No visas have been issued under this category since the changes were introduced on June 9,” he said.

Another visa that can be used is the LMO (labour market opinion) visa. In this, Canada has mandated companies to certify that they would not displace any local workers in the two years following the award of an IT contract. “Companies are not comfortable providing such certificates,” Sabharwal said.

Canada and US have been tightening visa programmes under pressure from sections locally that are worried about high unemployment rates in these countries. But many others say that the countries do not have the skills that India provides, and the move will ultimately be detrimental to those countries.
