Hi hussam_k
It is really sad to know this..

have you mentioned only these few lines of responsibilities ....

I think... it should be elaborated including all the work that you do day in and out in your job, but that should be presented in a language that relates with the Job Responsibilities available on NOC page...

other members pls comment..

I got my application back yesterday 5th July. The reason is that the duties I listed don't match those for NOC2133 Electrical Engineer. I am a 7th May applicant.

Here are the duties I listed in my reference letter:

Name: XXXX
Job title: Electrical Engineer
Period: April, 2008 to August, 2009
Working hours: 48 hours/week (Full time)
Base Salary: XXX
Job responsibilities:
• Inspecting the electrical components and the control devices of the production lines.
• Examining any failure in the electrical components and/or the control devices and solve the problem in a timely manner.
• Supervising electrical technicians and offer assistance when needed.
• Submitting weekly reports about the production processes to the management.

The duties on the NOC website are:
Electrical and electronics engineers perform some or all of the following duties:
Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical generation and distribution networks, electrical machinery and components and electronic communications, instrumentation and control systems, equipment, and components
Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Design electrical and electronic circuits, components, systems and equipment
Conduct micro or nanodevices simulations, characterization, process modeling and integration in the development of new electronic devices and products
Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Investigate electrical or electronic failures
Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for construction or maintenance
Supervise technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts and other engineers.

I am not sure what went wrong. What do you guys thin I can do? Do I still have any chances to make it?

Hi Century,
You are a very senior member in the forum and please do not take me wrong.I know you are motivating all the people waiting for the PER, but please also show them the reality. As per 2013 spreadsheet tab rejected applications, there have been instances of 10 cases where even after charging the CC, applicants received Negative Eligibility Review. Last year the program was not as big as this year and it also depends on how many people had genuinely updated the spreadsheet.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aovj20uHVWyzdGFqSGJUOEtVX0h5eWM0cXB5dlAtOEE#gid=46
DD charged simply means that the applicant has only passed the completeness check, PER is only sent out after the officer approved the eligibility of the applicant. Here is the manual of how CIC works
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06c-eng.pdf
Good luck to all and wish all a very good luck !!
Your analysis is seriously flawed. You cannot use subset (only rejection) to represent global pictures. I calculated the overall pictures in below:

Current Status Number of Applicant
Reject after Charge 7
PER 184
Interview 8
File Transferred 128
Medical 150
Visas 268
Total 745

So overall reject after charge = number of rejection after charge/Number of application charged = 7/745 = 0.94%

So, there is only less than one percent chance of rejection after charging.

And remember, Century don't show any cheap emotion.

First of all Century I did want demean your analysis in any way. Apologies for that.
I did not make any analysis ,I just shared my thoughts based on the CIC manual which states that there is a further check done after the completeness check.
Even when I was waiting for my PER, at the back of my head I always looked at the 2013 spreadsheet with 7 people getting rejected after CC being charged.
It was just my take as per their manual
I wish you all get you PER.
Good Luck!!

Hi,

Sorry to hear this, on the bright side you received the returned package early and there is plenty of opportunity to proofread and send a fresh application again , regarding the cap getting filled for your NOC , DO NOT worry about this.

Now plenty went wrong on your letter:

1.Im not from your NOC , first glance tells me you have just focused on inspecting/examining electrical components( May be you did much more than this , but failed to get it written on the letter?)

2. Keywords like designing, modeling, modifying ,testing, developing are missing on your letter.

3. I understand Electrical Engineering is a very challenging job , and it requires much more than just 4 duties to be competing in this field I assume.

Accumulate suggestions from this forum , talk to seniors from your field and prepare a fresh application.

Do not lose hope. You are still in the game. All the best!

Hey guys, one quick question,

Should I attach the supporting documents for background declaration. I know they are not required but will it help speed up the process provided my application is accepted first. Btw I am applying for NOC 0111 Financial managers.

One question to all the members :
If there is cap of 1000, what do you think will be the success rate ? I mean not all the applications will get through the final stage. Will the seats be left un-filled by the end of the year if many of them are rejected at the verification stage?
I am not trying to dis-hearten anyone, it's just a hypothetical question.

Ok here is the basics:

1) If you were employed and you went for vacation .. you wouldn't out it because your actual status is employed.

2) If you were unemployed and you went for vacation .. it would more likely be considered travel , which you would document in personal history.

Either way you would need to mentioned it in the Supplementary Information Form ..
Thanks for the detail reply.....

It is nothing wrong with sharing information but how you represent does matter. When you highlight only 7 without the total number of charging information, it will cause unnecessary anxiety among members. As a general people, our mind should never occupied for an occurance that has less than 1% possibility.

Anyway, thank you. At the end we at least know rejection chance is ignorable.

Sorry to hear that. But I agree with everybody that has chimed in already. If I were to just read the duties you have posted, I would never think you are an electrical engineer because it does not have the "engineering" component to it.

Also remember that in addition to having a good match with CIC's list, some key duties associated with electrical engineering have to be listed as your duties (I am assuming those would be related to actually designing electrical systems). It seems to me that what you listed as your duties are more of the non-essential types.

Other members correct me if I am wrong. But it seems to me that you have listed just ONE point for your job duties. The list of technologies you used can be considered an extension of the same one sentence, and as has been pointed out already, not sufficient.
