Application number? A confirmation that your application has been received? Could you give a little more detail?

Re: URGENT - Reference Letter

I need URGENT suggestion on one aspect of my application. One of my previous job is tied to the relevant NOC (that I applied to), and since the company HR did not issue a reference letter I had my manager provide me what was needed. But instead of using the company letter head this was done on plain paper in the 'TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN' format, signed by my manager. The letter contains everything that was asked for from a reference letter in terms of the content, though again a company seal could not be provided anyway in such a case. The manager also provided his business card, which is attached with this letter.

However, when I sent my package I did not add a covering letter to state that the above letter is provided in lieu of the company HR letter on company letter head as my company's HR has refused to provide the same (though I was able to provide HR letters on company letter head for all my other jobs, even though they don't relate to the relevant NOC that I have applied for).

Should I now send this cover letter to CIO (I have a UCI number from previous FSWP attempt)? If doing this makes my case strong (as other aspects of the application are done well) I'd like to know. Or to put in another term, is my case weak right now?

Request experienced folks to provide their input, especially if they are aware of such cases from earlier times.

I thank you in advance for your input. :)

Dear Oscar brother,

I want to ask one thing- How many yrs work experience was carrying this past job?

If u exclude this job yrs point then -will there be enough point i meant 67 points already?

Let us know please... :)

This is 3+ years work experience. Most importantly this is the only job that applies to the FSWP 2014 NOC category that I have applied to, and other jobs that I have done in the past don't apply to any of the 50 FSWP 2014 NOC categories. So if this job is not counted then CIC can say that my application does not meet NOC requirement (as other jobs are not on the list of 50 NOCs of FSWP 2014). Hope that clarifies?

Ok then its the most important Job experience for ur application....I wish if u could manage the letter with the Company letter head...!

Anyway it will be better for the current scenario--As u already thought---To send a cover letter mentioning ur UCI.

This will clarify a bit more tht why u have not submitted the company letter head work letter. Case officer may take it in more easier way...:)

Also This will also increase ur mental satisfaction too....:)

Praying for u to be a successful applicant this yr OSCAR...:)

This is so frustrating.. Why the hell are 0111 applicants not getting charged ???

I did a quick analysis on the 2014 spreadsheet

All those who have been charged or have received their PER are applicants in the category of (financial analysts, engineers, consultants, designers, nurses, accountants, developers and technicians). Also these are the categories for which CAPs fill very quickly

Does this signify that CIC is going for addressing applicants in these HOT NOCs first? Does this leave hope for applicants, like us, in non-hot NOCs like 0111

Its been close to 6 weeks since my application reached Sydney NS (Received by MIKE). With no response so far, I am really on the verge of getting nervous.

They don't specify the order in which this question should be answered. So you should be good. They shouldn't punish you for something they have not asked for.

Please relax, each applicant has its own case so until you did not hear any news from your application bad or good, you are still on the race.

But as I know you can follow up your application if 6 weeks or more with no feedback from them.

May be he can also fax the new form to CIC to get immediate attention..

This is a serious issue. They will return your application if payment cannot be made. What I would do is 1) send them a revised form immediately, 2) send them an email stating the issue, and also 3) calling them to try to get hold of them and explain the issue. 4) Hope that everything works out fine!

Is there anything that your credit card can do?

In case such things happen with any body in future, what would be the ideal way to handle..?

Is there any option where we inform the CC company to restrict all other type of transaction with CC and only allow transaction in CAD currency..? This can avoid misuse of the lost card and at the same time, we can avoid invalidation of the old card.. After CC is charged by CIO, we can ask for new CC..

If no such facility exist, should we not report the loss of credit card to the credit card company and wait till the CC is charged.. I know this is risky.. whats your opinion experts..?

Can someone please advice with this dilemma?

My application for FSW was received on May 14th. I indicated as method of payment a valid credit card. In the meanwhile, unfortunately the credit card got lost, and I currently have a replacement, same number, but different security code, and different expiration date.

The credit card company said that when I activated this card the old one went automatically invalid.

So, I do need to inform CIC in the fastest way possible about the new credit card information.
What would be the best way to do it - send a letter with the updated payment sheet? Any other suggestions?

Does any one know what happens if the payment does not go through? Will they try to contact the sender or is the application automatically disqualified?
Thanks!

@weswes

Although a far fetched idea, but still check with your CC company if your security code could be changed to previous. Yes, it may expose you to same risk of online usage (by someone who has your card) but you can manage it blocking other online transactions.

Additionally; as informed by other member CIC use POS terminal rather than online system. Usually, on POS terminal security code is not required. You can check with your CC company if remote usage from POS terminal (when they don't have info saved in the strip) requires security code. It might not be required, just a wishful thinking.
