One query :
I sent my application thru DHL (New Delhi). It was delivered on 28th and Signed by Doug.
But, when I checked their Website to see Proof Of Delivery, I noticed that they have Delivered the pkg to some strange address (CITIALD etc, but with correct zipcode) in Halifax (instead of Sydney). I am little worried now. Though I could find on some other forum that this has happened to few other people too, though there pkgs reached CIO eventually. They say that DHL cannot directly deliver to CIO, Sydney and hence they deliver to Halifax and from there some 3rd party company delivers in Sydney.

Has this happened to someone else too in this forum ??? Or, Shall I contact DHL again (though there customer care really sucks! ) ?

Only good thing is that Doug is a known name in CIO and has rcvd pkg of couple more forumites on 28th May.
DHL sucks.

Yes, you can pay through a credit card which is not on your name. And no, this will not be a problem. Forum member ejohn used his brother's CC and he reported it was charged on May 27th.
Thanks awilner!!

This makes me worry more... if not CC then what else..... why is my CC not getting charged.

Anyways, will still hope for the best rather then crying over it :)

O, good joke... I think it's untrue, because I personally know people from Ukraine who have moved under FSWP much more faster.
By the way, I applied online for visitor visa on 2 January this year and I've got it on 6th January... Thus, all may happen

Not all over the globe. At-least from Singapore, not a single applicant.

It might be because the are many VO working on files received on same date. File are being allocated to different VO's anonymously. So, if a VO who has you file might not be on work or can be on Vacation or might have mad a sick call. It just a matter of days. Your CC will be charged soon. Hope for the best. I can be wrong but this is what I think can be few reasons why your CC is not charged.

Visitor visas are a much simpler matter, therefore they are expected to be way faster. I still think the best course of action is to warn the VO of the pregnancy as soon as they contact you (via an AOR, if I'm not mistaken), and in case you receive a request for medical before birth, you should hold out on taking the medical until you add the baby to your application. This means a birth certificate (and certified translation), passport, photos and an additional CAD$ 150 fee, together with updated forms.

If the deadline for the medicals is getting close and you are still not able to include your newborn in the application, contact the VO and ask for a deadline extension, I'm sure they can accomodate that.

The alternative you proposed, getting your newborn a visitor visa and proceed with sponsorship, is messy and prone to complications. I would consider this a last resort if all else fails. If for some reason you get your CoPR during the pregnancy, I think you should rush to perform your landing and deliver the baby in Canada, and then you can go back to Ukraine and plan your actual move.
