Dear Friends

Kindly guide me. I am preparing my application for FSWP2014 and likely to send it by 20th December. But the problem is that my passport is going to expire by the end of March 2015. Based on this, kindly guide me shall I renew my passport first and then send the application or first send the application asap and then update my new passport as addendum? Considering that if my file reaches near 25th Dec, I will have 90 to 95 days max for my passport validity.
If I am in cap and my application is not checked before March15(i.e. expiry of my passport), will they still issue me PER on expired passport if all goes well with my application and I clear cap for my noc? Or my passport expiry will attract NER if my file is processed after March? Is passport validity a mandatory requirement for PER?
I am very much confused. If I wait for passport it will be near 20th Dec but otherwise I can save almost 10 days in sending my file if I dont wait for passport!
Please guide me seniors and experts, what to do.

I think you are going to face two problems under those times. First, probably CIC will not be receiving apps late december due to holidays (not official, just a guess), so your app may end up being delivered in January. That poses a risk if Ministerial instructions cut FSW short.

Secondly, your application will definitely enter review between 80-90 days after arriving, so there is a chance that your passport is expired when it comes to officer's review, which would certainly lead to rejection.

My advice would be to renew passport as soon as posible and apply after that, wether on FSW (if no ministerial instructions are issued) or by Express Entry.

Yes, this kind of payment is specific for some visas offices, including Havana. Regarding the address, yes I sent it to the one mentioned in their website.
I've seen that latest PERs refer to July 29 or 30. So I guess mine should be by next week or the other. God willing.
Seniors, I sent my appl to their mailing address(PO Box) posted in their website, is that ok? Do they give the same treatment to those applications sent to their PO BOX address?

Yes right, after completeness check if there is a rejection, only NER email is sent while application is not sent back.
Application is sent back by snail mail only if it fails completeness check.

If a PER is sent after x days of the completeness check, a NER mail would also take x days to be sent? Or does it take more or less days?

Just confused, can anyone explain me this, last cc charge for noc 2171 was on 11 Nov for 28th Aug applicant at that time cap status was 559, as per ss there is no charge since then, how come cap reach 1000, does it mean cap reached based on complete check, if that is the case till which date apps are in, I am 17th sept applicant will I will be in cap???[font=Verda[/font]

I believe you should be safe. I guess CIC just focuses on closing next hottest NOC and channels the majority of resources on doing completeness on selected NOCs, while other NOCs progress at much slower pace with minimal resources. But again, only CIC knows for sure!

Hello Ahsenshah,

U must definitely go for 2281 on monday. Its only around 400 application are their in CIC database which I suppose as per complete application (completeness check is done) not on the basis of CC charge or PER issued. And I suppose completeness check has crossed mid sep 2014. Why you r worried whether will fall in cap or not just proceed n leave other things on god.

Ladies and gentlemen,

While on the ride to PER village, I decided to stop over at ECAS rest spot to check out the forecast as I already had a UCI members only pass.
The forecast read "in progress - we received your application on the 29th of July 2014."

I believe PER village is in sight... Right?

I think we the SEPT applicants are not safe.Bcoz in previously capped NOC there is no CC/DD charged after capped.I think same will happen to 2717 too...

As expected, the CAP for 2171 is updated to 1000. I was actually expecting it to be updated last week itself.
The real question is until what date they have considered ? I was initially thinking that until end of september should be safe.
But, I also thought that 2173 would go on until end of August. As I haven't seen any 2173 charges, I am doubtful about 2171 charges also including my own application.
An update from 550 to 1000 just doesn't make sense unless they have included apps from September. I mean they could have as well updated 2171 to 1000 along with 2173, but they didn't.
Anyway, enough of analysis. I will take a break from this forum. Good luck to all you guys.
If I do end up getting a PER, I will come back to this thread or else I will join the Express Entry thread sometime next year.

have some doubts regarding visa fee...
me n my husband are applicants...as per the link provided we have to give 550 dollars per applicant ,is the additional fee of 490 dollars for both or for an individual ??? please confirm...

550 CAD was the initial fee per adult applicant and 150 CAD per minor,
490 CAD is the RPRF fee for adult and NIL for minors.
