Guys!!

My daughter Birth Certificate from Municipal Corp was in Hinglish (parents name in Hindi) and my consultant forgot to translate it to English. My file is about to reach today!! Can a file get rejected because of this? MIne was in English and my wife's was in HIndi which was translated.

PLs Help
Flowchart:

1. Is Hindi using a different alphabet/writing system than English? If no, you are fine.

2. If yes, does the information appear on the certificate in English (Roman) characters as well? If yes, you are fine.

3. If no, a translation was necessary and it MIGHT be a problem, nobody knows.

Also if #3, I'd get my money back from that consultant and/or report them to CIC as having committed malpractice.

Consultants suck.

I have my Ielts on 21 June 2014, I am collecting my documents for ECA. I want to apply for NOC 1112. Do you guys think if i apply by July 2nd week i will make it??? Should i even send my application??? Is there any way you can track how many application CIC has received??

Also, any good consultants in India to help one process the application faster.
Nobody knows when the cap will be reached. Only CIC has the accurate info and they are slow in updating their pages. Everything else is an educated guess. You might as well try.

From everything I have read about people's experiences on this board, consultants have screwed people over and mostly have not helped applications at all. Anyway there isn't anything they can do to get your application in faster; if your IELTS is a month from now you have plenty of time to gather all remaining documents and fill in all remaining forms and have them ready to go when your IELTS result is in hand.

Good luck!

Hi Ashiff...

My Application ahs reached Nova Scotia... How can i Know the status of my application.... do they send mail communication about acceptance or provide me with some ID to track the application progress....
Yes and yes, but it could take up to 8-10 weeks. Until you hear from them, it's purely a waiting game.

A PCC is fine but any FBI related fingerprints needs to be submitted?
What do you mean? To obtain your PCC from the FBI, you need to submit your fingerprints to the FBI. But you don't need to submit your fingerprints to CIC.

Hello Friends,

One of my friends wants to apply as University professors and lecturers (4011) under FSW . We are confused on claiming points. Could anyone help us calculate exact points. Her details are below:

Language: She is confident to get CLB level 8 in IELTS.

Education:
Ph.D. Horticulture - 2013
M.Sc. Horticulture - 2007
B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture - 2004

Experience:
1. Presently working as Subject matter Specialist/Asst. Professor (Horticulture) since Oct 2012
2. Six years experience as freelance horticulture consultant and landscape designer.

Age: 33 yrs.

Adaptability: Not applicable.

Although she is married but separated and her divorce procedure is going on so there is no question of her husband's language ability points.

Also, please advise us how she should proceed when it comes to her divorce issue. Does she have to wait till she gets divorce. What documents she should submit if she wants to apply before her divorce. She has one child who shall accompany her to Canada.

Please advise in detail addressing all my concerns above.

Thanking you. God Bless you.
25 points for education. If she does in fact reach CLB 8 in all areas of IELTS, 20 points for language. for work experience, she has at least 9 for 1.5 years of experience in her primary NOC. She MAY be able to get additional points for her former experience. You need to examine the 2011 NOC here http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Welcome.aspx to determine if her former experience is within skill type 0 or skill levels A or B. If so she can get additional points, but let's just say 9 to be safe. For 33 years old you get 12 points. With no job offer and no adaptability points you get 0 there. So that's 66 points. The pass mark is 67. I suggest reviewing her experience within the past 10 years very carefully to see if she will be able to get additional points, OR working hard to get at least one additional point on IELTS OR seeing whether there is an adaptability point she can get somewhere OR if she happens to speak French, taking the appropriate test to see if she can score 5 for her French ability.

Regarding the divorce, she must fill out all forms completely and accurately according to her situation as it is right now. She should also explain in a covering letter or annexure that she is separated pending divorce. There are forms that a spouse must fill out and documents that a spouse must provide for the application as well even if that spouse will not be accompanying the applicant to Canada. If her estranged husband refuses to cooperate in supplying these documents and filling these forms, she will have to explain in an annexure/covering letter the full situation. I don't know what CIC would do about that. In order to bring her child to Canada, she will need to provide documentary evidence (court order, divorce settlement, etc) that she is divorced and that she has sole custody of the child or that she is allowed to bring the child out of the court's jurisdiction and any limits to her control of the child, if any. I strongly suggest reading the application guide http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp and document checklist (download forms here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp)THOROUGHLY to become familiar with all requirements and what documents are necessary. She may also want to hire an immigration attorney because her application has some complications that may be best addressed with the advice of counsel. (I can refer my attorney if you wish, he's very good.)

Good luck.

Can someone throw some light on this or at least tell me where is it written to notarise all photocopies. Or r we simply increasing our cost for no reason?
There's no need at all.

Hi seniors,

IS there any one familiar with Australian Police Check?
I was an overseas student in Australia for 4 years. I am trying to apply for a PCC from this country.
It stated on the CIC website that I need addition document from the local traffic department regarding for traffic history record.
IMPORTANT AND MANDATORY: Additional requirements apply for those who lived in or currently live in the States of Queensland and/or Victoria after their 18th birthday:

Residents of Queensland must submit a Traffic History which goes back to their 18th birthday or the day on which their first Australian driver's licence was issued.
Residents of Victoria must submit a Licence History Search which goes back to their 18th birthday or the day on which their first Australian driver's licence was issued. Applicants who are unable to provide a Traffic History or a Licence History Search must provide evidence, issued by the Queensland and/or Victoria roads authority, stating that the person has never held a driver's licence in that state.

As I was not Australian PR(nor Citizen) and did not hold a driver license. But I had a learners permit for a period, never get on a actual drive.
Do I still need to apply for that?

Any help?

Thank you
Better do it just in case. But no need to hold up your application while applying for it as PCCs can be sent later. Explain the situation thoroughly in an annexure and if they still want your traffic report they will ask you for it through the local VO. Obtain it now so you will have it on hand if and when it is requested.

Hmmm...this divorce issue is a tricky issue.
Firstly....
1.Education.....Phd will give her 25 points
2.IELTS......I'm assuming minimum of 16points
3.Age of 33 will give her 12 points
4.Experience will give her 15 points
TOTAL is 68points....qualified according to the information you supplied and my assumed IELTS of 16points.

On the divorce issue, there are two(2) ways out for me....
1.Its either she waits until when her divorce is legalized and sorted out so that when she fills divorced in her generic form, she will be able to provide a divorce certificate. This way....she wont have to provide any details of her spouse

2.She may have to temporarily explain to her spouse to pretend to go along with the application for her to present the marriage certificate. After PERS,and when the divorce certificate is out,she can notify her local V.O by sending the divorce certificate. In this case, her spouse will still supply passport photographs as stated in the document checklist and her spouse will fill the form IMM5669 and 5406

Really....its a dicey situation.I will advice her to go for option one since she still have time to do her ECA and IELTS and maybe the divorce will be settled then
if she envisaged that it wont be settle before end of the year/sending her application, she should humbly pursue option two with all humility and explain to her spouse who should be understanding.

She may seek advice from lawyers too on the way forward regarding this scenario.

Cheers!
Why are you giving 15 points for experience. Do you know that her former experience (prior to becoming a professor) fell into skill type 0 or skill level A or B? That needs to be assessed before the experience points can be determined.

Hello,

While I wait for my IELTS on 7th June and worry about whether WES will switch my evaluation status from "Waiting for documents" to anything else this year, I am planning to get the forms filled out rock solid.

I think I am fairly confident of what needs to be filled where but just looking for confirmation of some details - form-wise:

Generic Application Form for Canada - IMM0008ENU_2D
a. I am primary applicant. I am not even saying wife is fluent in ENGLISH so she isn't taking IELTS either. Under Current Occupation, I will put "Consultant" because that what she is right now in her IT company but what do I put for intended occupation for her? "House wife" or same "Consultant"? She does intend to work once if and when we are there but obviously I can't tell what job/designation she will get.

Schedule A Background Declaration - IMM5669E
a. Under Education, for Primary/Elementary - Secondary/High School - University/College - Trade School /Other Post Secondary School, what numbers do I put? I have usual 1st to 10th in Mumbai, India. Then 11th and 12th in a junior college in Mumbai, India. Followed by 4 years B.E. in Mumbai, India and then 2 years M.S. in USA.
Should it be 4-6-8-0 or 10-2-4-2?
b. What is the "field of study" for S.S.C. (10th standard certificate)?
c. Under "Type of certificate/diploma issued", I need to say "B.E." or "Bachelors"?
d. For Personal History / Activity / Work History entered anywhere, do I put "Present" or "2014/06" when submitting application or leave it empty? There is no room for "Present" to be written.

Additional Family Information - IMM5406E
a. Can you confirm it is only the NAMES of people which has to be written in regional language in addition to in English (not Address, Status, etc. too).

Thanks a lot in advance.

My emplyoer is not able to provide the experience letter. However i have company letter pad and stamp. Shall i write by my own & put the signature of my HOD on bottom. Will they call my HOD and verify it?
Faking a letter is defrauding CIC and is grounds for rejection and exclusion from Canada for 2 years or more. DO NOT DO THIS. Especially if Rahim Virani is your real name, because you've just posted about it publicly.

The local VO MIGHT call your HOD and verify it. The chances are increased because, due to your user name, I surmise that you are from South Asia (India/Pakistan & nearby countries), which is ground zero for immigration fraud to Canada. No offense to Indians.

Hi seniors,
Got my WES Report.

I have done 3 years bachelor in commerce and 2 years masters in commerce but they assessed both the degrees as bachelor...??? :-X

For Bachelor= 3 years bachelor
For Masters= 4 years bachelor.

I am really confused, are they correct??What will be my points?? :-X
You could always talk to WES and discuss with them that you think you have a master's degree. Maybe according to WES it really is equivalent only to a Canadian bachelor's.

The difference is only 1 point between a master's degree and 2 bachelor's degrees... hopefully you didn't need that one point and can submit the ECA as is...
