Hopefully some senior member can provide his or hers 2 cents about my interpretation of the cap update....

NOC 2173 Applicant, received at CIO on Sept 26th (last friday!)

Average applications per cap update on the NOC is about 43 (considering only the last 6 updates). If that pace is kept it means that the CAP will be reached in approximately 16 or 17 weeks, which is January 16-23.

Also, the rough average days of application being charged from time of receipt at CIO is about 90-100 days, or 11-12 weeks.

Considering those numbers, i believe all applications under NOC 2173 received at CIO at 90 days before January 16 (Oct 16th) should be safe, give or take a few days.

Here's hoping i am right :P

You fell in the same trap many people here fall in. You assumed that what CIC receives in a week will always be processed in a week, and that the lag is constant (90 days). This is an invalid model. We are actually in front of a simple queuing system with a variable inflow rate and an almost constant outflow rate (approximately 500 apps a week). Inflow was larger than 500 per week during May, and this caused a backlog to form, and inflow is less than 500 app per week in July, and may be June as well, which will cause the backlog to diminish. Got it?

A second mistake is assuming that the outflow will always have the same ratios of NOC's every week, so mistakenly assuming that there is an average number of processed apps per NOC per week. Such an average does not have a meaningful significance in reality, because the apps per NOC follow a dynamic pattern over time. For example, IT people can do some maneuvering to avoid applying in 2174 and apply in 2172 instead, which means that 2172 rate should witness an increase on the expense of 2174.

ur analysis is being proved accurate......

kindly comment that my application for 2132 has reached on 24 september....whats ur analysis for my application?

For close calls, I don't predict when the cap will be reached and who will be in and out... it can only make people hate you. ;)

The ice cold NOCs are safe, 1112 and 2174 are realistically capped for some time already, but danger zone NOCs are a gamble.

How do we receive AOR, do we receive in mail from NDVO as well.
Also, is that updated on ECAS status?

Probably just about touch and go!!

Being unknown as FSW2014 stops in Dec, & my 6th Oct desicion may come in Jan'15(~ 90 days) if I am in or not. what should be right time to file another application with different NOC & not to loose visa fees+ trouble of multiple applications on board ?

I sent out my application from the US under the 1112 - Financial Analyst NOC code and it was received by the visa office in Sydney NS on Thursday, September 25th. Now going by what I read here, it seems I got too late in applying and the 1112 cap has already been met taking into account the backlog (currently reads at 702 updated on Sep 26th).

Any thoughts on this from members here?

Thanks.

Guys,

Based upon the recent trend in CAP update (30-Sep-2014), I've performed the Swing Analysis for NOC 2171, 2173 and 2174

The trend is almost similar to last week's update.

2171 has 36 applications,
2173 has 49 applications,
and 2174 has 60 applications

There is visible decline in pace for 2171, 2173, 2174, by 3.70%, 1.79%, and 0.09% receptively, as compared to last week's update.

Cheers!

Normalize those figures against the total number of apps processed every week, and you will find out that the decline is even more significant. For example, last week, 2174 increased by 56 within a total of 493 apps (11.35%). This week, it increased by 60 within a total of 595 apps (10.08%) :)

Hi everyone

For the last 6 years and a half I have been both consultant and analyst for a company in IT services related with Servers Infrastructure, Windows Server Operating Systems, Security, performance, exchange, etc.

My question here is if the NOC 2171 meets this job description.

Thanks.

Given your background, I think you would be eligible for 2171. I also work for IT services company and planning for 2171 NOC.

Please note the DD encashment flow below:

1. CIC submit DD to Central Bank of Canada (encashment day for CIO)
|
V
2. Central Bank sent it physically to Royal Bank of Canada (DD drawn on the bank) - it may perform same day or take several day.
|
V
3. Royal Bank will verify with ICIC bank in India
|
V
4. ICIC bank confirm and release the money
|
V
5. Royal Bank will confirm getting the money -possible time when ICIC bank will declare encashment
|
V
6. Royal bank release it to Central Bank of Canada
|
V
7. CIO get its money

Note the time difference between step 1 and step 5. Because of this gap, it takes time to bank to confirm encashment.

Any banker, if I am wrong, please let me correct it.

Long overdue +1 :)

Hello there,

Registered in the forum right now as I just realised my application received by CIO on Sept. 25th (according to UPS tracking) miss a copy of "Proof of a completed foreign education credential" according to item #13 in the Document checklist.

Do you guys know if I can send this complementary document to CIO in order to guarantee my application under NOC 2171 to be complete?

Also, I checked all items in the Document checklist even tough the ones I didn't used. Is it ok? According to the instructions it's necessary to check all items: "Gather your documents in the order of the checklist and check each item"

Please help!!!

sorry, dopedupguy, given the backlog, you are correct. Suggestion: can you reapply under another NOC/what is your job experience exactly?

Send a new envelope with your name, date of previous application delivery, NOC code and 'Supplementary Documents' written on the envelope. I would also recommend writing a cover letter explaining that you missed out on the document. You may also get feedback from other members as I have heard of similar cases with other members as well.

Also, I checked all items in the Document checklist even tough the ones I didn't used. Is it ok? No, it is not okay. You misread the intention of CIC. eg. why would you tick Ph.D. related documents when you are not doing Ph.D?According to the instructions it's necessary to check all items: "Gather your documents in the order of the checklist and check each item"

Please help!!!
