Folks,
I'm sorry, new to the forum hence unaware of the forum-etiquette.
My IELTS is slated for 20th Sep., so I'm expecting results in the first week of Oct., lets say 3-4th Oct. (takes 13 days for the result as I read).

If I start now, I expect my ECA would probably be completed by that time (Oct. 3rd). would that be a good time to apply for 2173 (Software engineers and designers) occupation or am I already very late for this year? Of course don't want to waste time and money if it has no chance or even very bleak...

Saw that link on CIC's website which gives you a sense of how many applications have been accepted as of date. That says only 139 out of 1,000 however I have heard that this link is not reliable as the website doesn't get updated very well.

Pls advise. Appreciate it.

You have almost figured it yourself correctly. That number (139) will be somewhere between 10-30% of the actual situation today. Do the math. ::)

Regards

Lol, people in USA don't get jobs of 80-100k becuase they show fake experience, its because of their skills and the demand for those high level skills which brings the salary to that level. Ofcourse there are some people who show fake experience but that is just 5% of the whole lot and these guys never get a 80-100k job, they get a job around 50-60k. Only people with advanced skills and really high calibre get a job of 80-100k and the fact is the entire silicon valley is full of these kind of people so almost everyone falls in this category except a few who go through consultants and show fake experience, these guys get jobs around 50-60k and all the companies know that their experience is a fake and not a real one.

Recruiters in the US are really smart here, they know everything :)
Yes very ture on the part where u say recruiters are really smart....

I remember a scenario with a consultant where they required a person with name "Amit"....since Amit was interviewed and he was hired But had to go back to Home country...so they were replacing Amit with anyone who had a similar name...This was scenario with consultants in USA...hehe... :P Things have changed for sure

hi everyone.. i'm new on this thread, but as i read some of your posts, correct me if im wrong, most of you if not all of you are Canadian Immigrant Applicants under Technically Skilled Applicants, right?

I was one of you before and I was one of the luckiest applicant 'coz it took less than 2 years (from the orientation day of application up to landing here in Canada with Landed Permanent Resident status..) to be here in Canada... it takes lots of courage, money and determination...

Ths is not to disaapoint you, but rather to give warning or to tell the "real thing" happening here... all your "qualiffications" will allow you to land here in Canada... but... those will be useless when you start using those to apply a job. I'm under NOC 2232 qualification but all hiring managers here will ask you if you had a "Canadian Experience" with regards to your area of specialty... if none, you're done... very few who got lucky to be hired as their proffesion here.. to be competetive, you will have to "upgrade" your proffesion by going back to school which is very expensive here. You can have "Student Loan" - payment for your schooling and allowance for you while attending school, but after school, you have to "volunteer" to have a "Canadian Experience"... so, by the time you landed on your "dream job" here, you're on a deep debt... >:(

What im trying to tell you is that don't expect to have your dream job here right after you landed here... there are so many Landed Internationally Trained Proffesionals here working as a "cleeaner"... prepare your self for worst scenario here... you cant here these things from CIC...

Good luck everyone....

Thanks for sharing your experience .... Truly appreciate

Sure you can. Your NOC will most likely be open beyond October as well.

All you need to do is fill these forms (follow the Document Checklist)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

by consulting the Instruction Guide here at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

If any questions, search this forum, and in case question persists, come and ask here.

First thing, even last night few members got their PER who were from 8th May. You can not be 100% sure when you are asking your bank that DD is encashed or not. As they have not sufficient and accurate information on DD most of the time.

So first and foremost thing, you need to make sure what you think about your file? was that complete or incomplete? In a sense, did you provide reference letters with JD according to your NOC? original IELTS and WES? Signature on all forms?

If yes, then wait for 2 3 days. Or if you have doubt and expecting your package back then contact IDP/British for another copy of test, explaining your situation and consider you for a copy due to your immigration process. As generally they do not provide copy that easily.
Thanks, I think I had sent all the docs mentioned in guide but I was expecting my application back as DD was not encashed as per my bank and most of the 8th May applicant got PER. I tried to contact CIC on Phone but my call could not transfer. Don't know what to do now .

[size=9pt] Okay, give me a week until my next weekly call with Chr1s - I will make them an offer that they can't refuse!!! ;)

No point giving them too much responsibility at once - let's see how they first do on Partner Shah's PER. One step at a time!!! Don't want them to try running before they can walk, else they might stumble lol like they did in 2011 and remained close for a year thereafter 8)

[size=9pt] This guy who might have not been famous like our Nobel prize winner also said something similar - not sure if the attempt was serious or humorous: :-X

An old (wo)man when asked why (s)he did not marry said, "I'd rather go through life wanting something I did not have, than having something I did not want."

May be they were both at the same frequency & wavelength. ::)

must surely be a serious attempt
