Are you sure you're talking about NOC 2171?

Here's a link to details of NOC 2171, under illustrative examples section they've mentioned example titles, I don't see anything that's close to Account Manager.

My current job title is Account Manager and this is the description that was in the letter that was returned. (I should add that the letter was originally written last year for 2147 which was my job from 2004 to 2011. I wasn't concentrating on matching the Account Manager role to the NOC.

Essential Duties
•Lead the development of new business opportunities and manage customer relationships in order to gain strategic positioning with decision makers.
•Develop and implement sales plans that provide clearly defined strategies, tactics and time frames to maximise revenue using Target Account Selling methodology.
•Coordinate virtual teams within the company in the development and integration of customer requirements through to delivery.
•Learns and develops further knowledge of new technologies and selling points which includes enhancing expertise in the company's product application technologies.
Acting as customer advocate, including a point of escalation for customers to ensure they are well served by the organisation.

Challenge existing technologies and solutions as fit for purpose and recommend corrective action where necessary

I thought there was enough in there to correspond but obviously the CIC officer does not agree. Can anyone make any suggestions please?

Your clearly missing some keywords like design, develop, integrate(this need to be for IT not for sales plan) and strategy, policy, management. Also the word consulting,analyzing is missing.This is looking more like a key account manager position who pamper client but not help them find solutions.
 
I have a query

I am working as Software tester since 2004 but my last two companies are not working currently ( center closed) I am working in my current company since 2008 so i have all the documents required for 7 yrs exp but i am having gap of 4 years 2004 - 2008. What should i do ?

I have a business too running with my name since 2002, i can give experience for that too but is it worth ? or should i just leave it and show 7 years exp of current company and mention 2004 - 2008 as gap ( free time or something )

I all I'm new to this forum noticing from previous posts only May 9th app received their PER and it's already mid August.
My app was signed for on the 21 May 2014 didn't realize it would take this long to get a reply from cic, was abt to write them because they said u can send an email from 8 wks onward from the time application was received but I think I am gonna have to wait. :( :( :( :(

So do it the right way, may be get a senior / supervisor to provide reference letter with duties on a plain A4 paper in person capacity (and add all that is asked in the content of this letter) and get their business card if you can. Send that with additional supporting material stated in document checklist. Too many short cuts hurt in the end dear!! :-X

Words of wisdom for all of those who haven't filed. Dont worry about me, My questions was generic, as a HR Manager, who issues letters himself. This is what is generically followed. 16 years of experience, with 7 as a HR Mgr has its advantages. I have accumulated 4 exp letters from diff roles during that period, but for others, including a visiting card is a good practice. Also, attach salary slips which generally state Permanent Full-time for most employers. They can also include that page of the Letter of Employment (Legally binding per labour law), which shows hours of work.

Okay, my bad! In that case, weird thing is that they haven't provided any example job description for the Account Manager's role which makes it difficult for one to describe it in a way that matches their expectations.

Did they return your file after charging fees or without? And did you provide other documents such as payslips etc.?
 
In addition to this, you only have 5 lines for your job duties...try and expand your duties to at least one page 12-15 points...I am sure you would be able to come out with these many points...

hint...look for a job description of your role on any of the job-sites (Naukri / monster etc...) and that should help you remind your work...because it sometimes happens that we perform some duties but tend to forget it while mentioning them.
