Guys .. I got this info from consultancy when I was discussing to get my application filed by them .. However I did it on my own as they were charging more
They mentioned that primary applicant and any accompanying family members have to pay the fees .. thats the main difference for accompanying and non-accompanying family members
The other difference is in Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)
under Dependant's Personal Details
for Question 11 -
Check the box to indicate whether or not, your dependant will accompany you to Canada.
If you answered “No”, provide the reason why your dependant is non-accompanying.

But you hae to fill all the details for your accompanying / non-accompanying family members in all documents
Note - POF should be shown for all the family members whether accompnaying or not

Correct on all counts.

Finally, a consultant who gives correct advice!

Dear Members,

Do you think that the Local VO will recalculate your application points, once they receive the application from NS? Sometimes the applicant may get additional points or lose points by the time the VO study your application !!! Any hints here guys Huh

I have received PER and my self calculated points is at margin = 68 and since I am 35ys, I will lose points per age

Thanks

Jamal

The spread sheet appears more difficult to navigate now that 'Number of days' is used for grouping rather than NOcs used previously, Kindly adjust appropriately if majority of forum members agree. Good Luck to all

Now it is 1st group according to status (as it was before) then latest activity (for example, when I got PER, I was at the top of PER list; later on I was over taken by Jigs, Dhaka, and KB). I think, it is better as we can see the latest change instantly.

It is not at all grouped by Number of Days.

Congrats Zakkhan ! :) :)

Hi Friends,

I am a bit confused on deciding whether if I should apply through an employment consultant agency or by myself for the FSW. There are many agencies in my area who are providing the service. They are charging around a total of INR 3 lacs for the service (for main applicant and Spouse). One of the agency guy even told that it will be very difficult if I try to apply by myself as I am unaware of the procedures included (they will say so obviously)
But still, how easy is the FSW application procedure If I go out there and do that by myself? Is it advisable to try it?
Besides, Is it compulsory to take an ECA for applying?

Thanks
Ishak

You can apply by yourself, as many of us are, but you need to educate yourself about the process. Read the Guide and document checklist thoroughly. Here's a link to the Guide, which contains a link to the required documents including the checklist: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

For example the answer to your question, "Is ECA compulsory?" (yes) will be answered by a thorough reading of the Guide.

Most consultants have a reputation for being misinformed, lazy and unhelpful after getting the fee. If you really want someone representing you, get an actual lawyer.

Also what is an "employment consultant agency?" Are they promising you a job and an LMO? If so that is a huge red flag.
