Dear Oscar, Ashif & Other Seniors

My worry is about my DD on which it was written Valid for 3 months. My application reached CIC on May 27th and the DD is valid until August 15th.

Would it be charged by then?? Otherwise it will expire even before CIC would look at my application. .. Please advise what to do in this case?

I was searching for a post on another thread whom was on similar situation...Could not find that ....

In that case u can follow the below procedure (he also did almost same). U can send new DD with 6 months validity..... For the earlier candidate i was talking, he sent new DD but his old DD was encashed on last stage of validity (three months) and newer DD was returned to his address (he also inculded his self addressed mailing label to the new mail to CIC)...

That is why its alws preferable to use DD....Smiley

Anyway the thing is that, right now u can email to below ID with ur name+PP+ DOB and App rcvd date

CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca

Consider the above without space

Write "URGENT" on ur email and ask them for the way forward for this issue...

In between of this, u can send new CC info included Fee Payment form....with a cover letter including ur name+PP+ DOB and App rcvd date ...

I hope they will accept it..

Hi @ ashif, century, oscar and all...here is a lil childish question..as purpose of this forum is to clear our doubts..so please help....

1. Please explain the difference between an affidavit and a cover letter ? -- cover letter is plain white A4 paper where you explain what all is missing in your application and solid reasons for the same. Affidavit is as you suggested in point 2, Govt Stamp Pater and has to be attested by a notary.

2. For an affidavit can we use a plain paper with some heading and sign at the end OR do we need to have it on the Govt Stamp Paper and get it acknowledged from notary ? -No it has to be on govt stamp paper. Rs 10 stamp paper is fine if you are in india

3. I have a reference letter from HR on company head where my name, designation and duration of work is mentioned. I have anothere reference letter on the letter head from my manager on which my duties are mentioned. Now to explain this why this is not on one page what do i need to submit...a cover letter or an affidavit..can someone explain ? -- Nothing. CIC staff is cabable enough to determine that both letter heads are for the same company and are a proof of your employment

4. For birth certificate....My origional BC is in Punjabi..i got it translated and an affidavit from the translator and a notarised copy of the origional one. However, my name is not on that certificate only my date of birth and my fathers name. But i am also giving my 10th class certificate (mark sheet) where my name, my fathers name, my mother's name and DOB is mentioned. Now in this case, what is required a cover letter or an affidavit? - An affidavit is required in this case explaining them that your birth date is this, and your name is missing from the birth certificate and mention your full name in affidavit. Another option is not to submit birth certificate and just submit the 10th certificate without any tranlation requirement
Like the above two scenarios if i have more kind of scenarios, then do i need to provide a cover letter of an affidavit for each problem or can i include everything in a one.....i have read here that someones cover letter was of 4 long pages..hows it can be ?

....FUNDS AFTER VISA STAMPING.....
Hi...after getting the visa stamped on our passport when we land on the Candaian soil then we need to show the same amount of funds shown during the FSW process. Do we need to show the updated bank balance certificate showing that we still have the settlement fund money (in my case updated balance of my FD) or liquidate the FD money and carry along with us..( CAD 12000 will be a big amount although i dont know what is the permissable limit to carry cash with you). Can somebody shed some light ?

Once your file reaches NDVO you will get an email "AOR" then you need to provide any additions and modifications...hav'nt seen an AOR myself so not exactly sure about the forms to be filled

you need to declare at the airport that you are carrying more than 10000 CAD and you are good to go.

May be you can clarify this. Is there any such option to change visa office when one receives AOR since i will be travelling to USA soon?

If u have valid Visa over one year for US then u can have the option to transfer ur file to another Visa office (CPC-O). In that case u will have to contact ur Local Visa office sending the appropriate docs of ur US visa and other docs (work/study permit)...


Local Visa office will then decide whether the docs are legitimate and eligible to be transferred to CPC-O...Its not alws guaranteed tht ur current local Visa office will allow to transfer the file.....But u can contact with them...They will advise what docs u will need to submit...

But this process will led u to the last position of the CPC-O (on that time ) to be considered for processing.....

Applying this week, need last moment help, below is my answer to question 12b for work experiences backwards from today:

2013 June to 2014 July. Noc 2141 not in eligible 50 occupations
2012 Nov to 2013 jun. Noc 2132

Before this another company
2011 June to 2102 nov. Noc 2132
2010 June to 2012 June. Noc 2132
2009 Dec to 2010 June. Noc 2132

Now will my latest experience of 13 months in non eligible noc would be a problem and if not points will be for 4+ years.
