My understanding : CPC-ottawa does not check background at all. Because, most of them are either living in Canada or America. So, for those applicants, background checking have already been done and CPC-ottawa thought it is unnecssary to do it again.

Agree with you, this is biggest advantage to applicants at CPC Ottawa. Background check takes hell lot of time.

Thanks for the response. I am wondering do I need to ask my old parents in my home town to run to notary. I saw some people posting a normal Affidevit by a notary saying "This is to certify that Mr XYZ, son of ABC was born on XXXX. His senior school certificate is attached as proof of DOB..." also works. Wondering why there is no guidelines issued by CIC in this case.

I guess, it will work and never heard any rejection for affidavit not done by parents; I personally prefer doing by parents as they should do it because they witnessed your birth.

Hi all,

I have a elementary question.

I worked 3.5 years as software engineer at a firm. Than take some time off - 8 months. Than, working again for 2.5 years in another firm as software engineer.

So, will my experience point be calculated based on 3.5 + 2.5 = 5.10 years? Or only the current job (2.5 years) will be counted?

What could be the possible proof of unemployment/time off???

May be an Experience Certifiacte from spouse.
