Hi All,

I am a 7th May applicant and just called my bank to check if my DD payable to CIC had been charged or not? Unfortunately it is still outstanding. I suspect my application package is being returned to me since now they have moved to 8th May Applicants. I am currently visiting family back home and will not get to UK where I currently live till the first week of August.

I have a UCI reference that I got when I applied last year but my application was returned due to cap already being reached. My question to the fellow forum members is that is there a number that I can call CIC on to check the status of my current application and the reason if it is being returned to me?

Please comment.

I think you should check your status by using old UCI on cic file status website, once UCI assign it will never changed as I already file two time before, but my UCI is same even I dont mentioned in forms anytime

Hmmm, tight situation, but would advice you don't just assume its being rejected.

It may be a silly question, but is it that once applicants have been charged for a particular day has passed to applicants of another day, that there isn't the slightest of being charged at a later date?

Hi Cardsman,

just relax, it is a standard procedure. CIO make three attempts for charging the fee in case of CC. A DD encasement could take anything from 2 days to 12 days. We have seen in past also May 5 candidates charged fee before May 2 applicants.
As you said you have UCI, check your status using your UCI.

just a quick query...
does ECA requires for Principal Applicant only or it is to be done for dependent spouse also??

Principal Applicant only.. If your looking for adaptability point than your spouse needs to appear for IELTS.

Good Luck

Hi fellow 7 May - NOC 2171 Applicants ... Is there any update on you applications??

LHR-2147 - CC
nharsh2000 -DD
canadian_leaf -CC
cardsman -DD
saikot -DD
tajeeeee -DD
mhasnat -DD

@ tknova
As a DD user, you can expect at least 30 (if not 40) applicants who will report DD charge and PER out of currently 53 outstanding DD. And I beleive, you will be one of them. ;D ;D

I've seen another case where a guy had his application returned because the reference letters were not matching the NOC. His letter was completely different from mine.

If I hadn't reached the minimum points, they would've told me, but in this case, they've text-marked the missing form on the checklist (5406 - principal applicant + your spouse) and put a post-it to call my
attention to it. I also received a letter (Appendix C) with a checklist of that appendix and with the spouse's form 5406 marked as missing.

Then there's this other letter, which is kinda generic, with the Work Experience text-marked, saying I need to match the requirements of 1 year experience. They did not text-mark that on the main checklist, only there. After I received my application back, I wrote my own job duties reference letter and asked my manager to sign it. Also wrote a letter stating the reasons why I did that and couldn't give them what they need like they need due to company policy. Can't do anything other than that to prove it.

The attempt #2 has been dispatched already... :)
Thanks for the advice.

Sorry to hear about you application . Hope your 2nd application clears the process. Can you please share the letter which you received from CIC. Thanks

Dear Future Applicants:

Before submitting your application, do the following last moment check: Most Frequent Errors

  • Ensure counting all the pages of form.
  • Ensure writing your full name at the last page of generic form.
  • Ensure selecting correct visa office
  • Ensure writing names in native languages
  • Ensure writing name, DoB, photo taken date at the back of photos
  • Ensure including self-addressed labels
  • Ensure while filling form IMM5406 by your spouse, s/he is applicant
  • Ensure Assets = Your property + settlement fund
  • Ensure Settlement fund is owned 100% by you or your spouse or jointly by both
  • Ensure providing original ECA, IELTS, and PCC
  • Ensure providing photocopy of degree/master certificate
  • Ensure birth certificate contains applicant's name, parent's name, and DoB
  • Ensure using DD;
  • If using CC, ensure diligently fill all the field of Section B of payment form: amount, card holders name, signatures, card numbers, CVV, expiry date, and type of card.
  • If using CC, keep it inside a vault.

Either of them should be ok.

I wonder how can one perform both the roles 'Financial Analyst' (in Corporation) and 'Investment Analyst' (IB, Equity Research, PE, Asset Mgmt etc.) not possible simultaneously... unless switched jobs 8)

There are many more NOC's which cover multiple Occupations in same Code !

Hello,

I have been following this blog from a couple of weeks. I am 16th may applicant for NOC 1112. A small query, experts please advise.

NOC 1112 is divided into 2 parts, financial analyst and investment analyst. To be eligible to apply, is it necessary to have duties performed of both the parts or anyone. I have performed the duties of an investment analyst and have submitted the reference letter as required by the immigration authorities.

Please advise.

OK Guys so just checked my online application status using the UCI I was issued last year. To be honest with you I did it half heartedly as had tried it a number of time in past with the last attempt in the previous week but to my utter surprise it is now showing my application status as "In Process" and when I click on the link it says "We received your application for permanent residence on May 7, 2014."

So I assume good news for me at last and I am still in the chase as if my application was being turned away they would not have updated its online status would they? Seniors Please confirm.

Thats right santhuvollala, but out of curiosity, you mentioned the need for spouse to have an IELTS result - if claiming points for it.

What happens if one didn't submit a spouse IELTS, to avoid further delay in submitting an application, and indicated spouse not proficient in English even though he is to an extent but has no IELTS result to prove it at time of application?
