Hey guys,

Hope you guys are doing fine. Just an update from my side which I thought I should give.

Just returned from Goa. Checked my email and saw that CIC had replied to my query dated 1st Nov on 24th Dec. The email says that my application was recd by them on 20th Oct (though my courier tracking says that application was recd by DAN on 2nd Sept). The email further says that my application is under initial processing.

I had honestly lost all hope for PER, as there has been no status on my application, but looking at this email, I am really happy, though effectively, my application is delayed by around 48 days.

Will get back to the forum in 2-3 days time.

That is bizarre, either courier company or CIC messed it up! It is possible that courier company messed it up because person signing signs only once for all packages so even if your package is left in the delivery van but it is unlikely to take 48 days to correct it for courier company. But happy for you! All the best.

But I think the courier company delivered on time as they have clearly mentioned that docs were accepted by DAN. Probably some lapse on the part of CIC.

However, happy that I am back in contention now.

How to ask about an application using CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca ?
What information should be included in the email body ?
What the subject of the email ?
Is there any special form to do this ?

hi,
it is better to send an email to your visa office. you need to print generic form including your newborn (once after you receive the passport for the new born). Along with that form you need to include the details about the newborn in the Additional family information - for you and for your spouse. If your Proof of Funds meet the requirement including the new born will be fine. Ifnot, you have to make another fund proof - can be an another one to meet up the total required amount.
