Aroms-as promised!

I remember this landing story, forgive my short memory. But your posting it again brought smiles to my face and so shall it be with you all the way in Canada. It shall always be smiles :)

Happy new week everyone.

I would just like to know if there is anyone here interested in a customer care position available in Mississauga? If so please PM me.

FYI the job may require you working full shifts with time between 7am and 10pm and likely include weekends. If this works out interview would be on September 1.

I would respond to those who PM me before end of today with how to apply.

Cheers

I used the one in Brampton. The first time i went they said no, but i went again and the person I met just accepted it without any questions. So when my wife went and they said no, she insisted they call a senior person and they finally agreed to accept her experience even with the expired temporary licence from Nigeria. Although we already had the letter fron the Nigeria High Commission.

You can get this done anytime. The 60 days applies to the maximum number of days you can use your international drivers licence as you are expected to have gotten the Canadian drivers licence.
Thanks! I feel more relieved. Have a great day

Hi members, i am a bit confused about this driving process in Ontario. What documents can one submit to the embassy @ Ottawa to skip g2? I have the letter from FRSC as well as international drivers license. Second question is what documents should be provided before doing the g1 test? Can one also submit his/her expired temp license to Ottawa to get the letter?
@ Teeboi: I only know for the G1 - we submitted our expired licenses, international passport and letter from FRSC to Ottawa and we got back a letter of authentication from them alongside our licenses. At the Brampton centre we were asked for the letter from Ottawa as well as unexpired drivers licenses. It was when we explained that that we didn't have the renewed licenses with us that the person who attended to us insisted she could only credit us with one year driving experience if we decided to write the G1 test on that same day (Saturday August 20)

I think there's another thread for landed seniors bah?...is it possible you guys discuss about this Driver's license and its likes over there??

Someone will log on to see better updates and maybe some good news only to find this endless discussion about drivers license this drivers license that.

I don't even want to drive in Canada...all i ask for is MR!

@chucks.
its unfortunate you see things the way you do , if everyone behaved in a like manner this thread would have gone cold since, and you wont be expectimg other peoples updates to help determine the processing pattern.... if you must know everything ever contributed on this forum becomes priceless information that would bail out someone else later .please lets be patient and enjoy the imformation.from others successes, it will.surely be your turn someday .congratulations to all our landed seniors and i pray that the lord will meet you all at the point of needs as you go about settling down ...

@ Henry Chuks, i understand how you feel, but please note that all these information from our landed seniors could one day be beneficial to us. There are still so many of us waiting so you are not alone. Many of us have our lives on hold, we cant even take major decisions. My advice is that for those that know how to pray, let us continue to pray ceaselessly. The grace to wait patiently the Lord will give to us all.
Congratulations to all our landed seniors, many of us appreciate your landing stories and other comments

But what cld be the likely cause of this delay from Accra VO? No MR updates with PNP files since May and same with FSW applicants.. It is well.

I really understand how you feel when you are waiting for a decision that can be life changing. However don't worry and just keep praying and preparing. Be assured it will end in praise IJN.

As per not wanting to drive in Canada, I am sure you will change your mind when you get here. Driving in Canada to me is a necessity because the country is just so big and public transport can be time consuming. As an example, I worked a few months before getting a car. My commute by public transport was 5 hours to and fro everyday. After I got a car, that reduced to 1 hr to and fro daily. And even then still consider when you use public transport and have to stand at the bus stop for 30 mins in -20 degrees Celsius temperature in the winter waiting for your bus!

i understand how you feel perfectly but i still think you dont have to sound like you are "belle aching"...all the information provided by everyone on this forum has been and will continue to be beneficial...no matter when you will land too and you will quickly forget all this waiting period

In additional to what ibadanchap said, if your work is in engineering sector without a driver's license no job. And it's even seen as a major government identity card even accepted than your passport.

I think Henry Chuks Ment that right now he is not interested hearing about driving not that he does not want to drive there . You should understand where he is coming from not hearing from AVO could be devasting most especially when you have plans to do and you can't plan ahed cause of them . Am sure he is happy for those who have landed . Am sure he is also learning from the landed seniors and keeping the information for when it will be of use to him .
