Waiting can and has been really frustrating, especially if one does not know why......I've been upset, emotions really high, troubled etc....Whilst POF might be intact, additional monies/income (that could have enhanced POF) has gone into necessities cos life must go on, AVO or not.

So my take, COPAs we won't be doing a RE-MR cos whether dem like or not, na done deal especially if there's nothing in our GCMS that says otherwise. Let's use the waiting period to get ourselves prepared so that we can hit the ground running when we land. As for the gradual reduction in POF value, let's change whatever we can to USD or CanUSD. To those awaiting MR, nothing do una....it's gonna come sooner than later in Jesus name.

Above all, like Tbaba said, we're luckier than some. If it's any consolation, processing times for EE is now 15months.

All the best to all of us and I doff my hat in respect.... :-*

Good morning all, please lets keep our hope alive and avoid any negative comments about AVO. I know how we all fell now anxiety, expectation and frustration might be setting in.
There is a lot to do after we get our Visa, I think we can use this waiting period to do a lot of research. I think going by AVO processing time for naija applicants which is 33 months, I can say that we FSW14 are highly favoured compared to previous years, some of us have gotten visa in less than one year, other have had their medicals and waiting for PPR, while some are still waiting for their MR request to drop. Please I implore all to remain calm as we will all received our visa at God appointed time. Remain bless all

Dear forunmites, if what I heard and am thinking is anything to go by, then we might need to wait for a long time or pray very hard to change the situation for better. This has to do with the failing in oil price and invariably affecting employment conditions and loss of job globally. I learnt though not proved that thousand are loosing their jobs monthly due to daily decrease in oil price in Canada, hence the authority feels it does not make a logical sense to bring more people when there are no available jobs for them to secure. I pray this is not a fact, if it was then we need to pray for the condition to change so it can affect us positively in getting our visas on time and able to secure a good job once there. Landed forumites should please confirm this and tell of the employment conditions overthere.

I get your point on this but I don't think Canada as a country is 100% dependent on Oil. Immigration has nothing to do with if there are available jobs if not they would not have considered taking in 25,000 Syrian refugees to the detriment of other immigration schemes. Our case is very peculiar due to the slow pace of AVO whereas other VO's are issuing PPR's and MR's. In all we should be patient and pray for this dry period to end, but we should also learn from this season and continue to be patient knowing fully well that our waiting is not always in vain. God always sees the end of every matter before he begins it. I encourage everyone to be calm and patient, in the end we will see that this delay might be a blessing in disguise. Remember the Israelite's spent 40 years in the wilderness before they entered Canaan. Ours is not up to 24 months yet and we are already complaining. God help us all Amen.

I totally agree with this view point. Existing applications may not necessarily be affected. I want to believe if at all they slow down on immigration, it will be on subsequent express entry

Firstly 1. Neyobash, drop your number, I no wan dey find you wen PPR come o

2. I don't believe the delay is from Cic or the Canadian govt, I believe it's just from AVO. It's just African factor.

Anyways nothing to do but wait.

This analogy in my opinion cannot be correct for many reasons. First, Jobs were available when they called for applications in 2014, though those jobs vacancies might have been filled, there're still a lot of openings out there. Second, if this analogy was correct then they would have halted the whole process altogether and wouldn't have been carrying out EE draws from time to time and lastly, Canada is not opening her doors to immigrants because their economy is booming and they want people to just come and take their share of the BIG cake, rather they are welcoming people because they have a relatively low population to build their vast country and economy.

I agree with you that the purpose could be to clear backlogs not only 2014 but all previous years. They have been under immense pressure to meet up with the 6 months they promised EE applicants while also trying to attend to the old ones. With this new timeline, they will be able to clear the old and keep their promise now of 15 months and later revert to 6 months for EE.

Maybe AVO started with the applications before 2014. Have we checked their thread here?
