I also want to use this opportunity to add that the delay with the Visa offices is general and applicable to other visa offices.

My Friend processing his permanent residency but lives in Canada at the moment is experiencing the same delay. He confirmed that the delay is as a result of the directive given to the Immigration office to focus on immigrants from Syria as we have been told.

At least this gives us some sort of hope since is not peculiar to AVO only.
