Hi all. New to this very helpful and informative group. I have a question? Has anyone had to send a request to the fbi for a background check? How long did it take? Can this be waived?

Yes, a few of us, myself included. It generally takes between 11-13 weeks (as per this FBI website link) to process. No it cannot be waived.

Ppr was sent 3rd September 15 avo received passport on d 8th of sept 15 got decision made on ecas on d 16th sept 15 finally pick up mail 18th sept 15. Medical request 13th aug medical done 14th of Aug. Got doc request 18th aug. In short my time line is on my profile

FBI Clearance

many thanks kuskus.... Did yours come after exactly 11-13weeks? Did you have to call to check up on it? I'm concerned my Fingerprints may not be accepted. I'm quite sure our NPF did a good job but if one has to repeat the request again ... Na wa! .... I shall stay optimistic though...

answer: if you have lived in USA for more than 6months then you need an FBI report.
Let the name FBI dont scare you,its same as PCC ......but the process is longer

At the time I applied for mine, the processing times was 14-16 weeks; if memory serves me right, mine was completed about the 13th week.
I did call the FBI about the 10th week, and also after my CC was charged to see if my prints were accepted.
With regard to the print, not to worry, the NPF (Alagbon) took my prints, and I know of at least one other forumite who did his there; the prints were accepted (although I took four sets) and I believe yours will be accepted too by the grace of God.
Do not fret!
