Hello everyone,

I haven't posted on the forum yet but today I received an email from CIC stating that my application has had a positive determination to be processed. I did not expect the notification so soon as my application was received on the 15th January 2014 and Payment was actually taken on the 14th February 2014. This is such a relief, I decided to do it all myself and was convinced I would of missed something despite checking it about 20 times! I have applied under NOC 3215 medical radiation technologist and am applying from the UK. I have put my information on the time line but it just needs updating.

After eight and half months of many anxious moments, finally got the maple leaf stamped visa and CPR on 24/02/14. considering the fact that millions aspire for it and tens of thousands apply and a handful get chosen, I consider myself lucky and blessed to have it. I contacted CIC call center to verify whether bank statement from Indian bank is accepted as Proof of fund on landing.

The call center agent told me that it is accepted but it should show the conversion from Indian rupees to Canadian dollars. 8)

It is always advisable to avoid bank statements for there have been cases where an immigrant was denied entry despite the fact that the statement came from reputed banks as Standard Chartered and HSBC. Though, I'm not saying none will be accepted at all but it's still best to avoid statement for their uncertainty of being accepted/rejected.
Read Qorax's posts.

From my understanding, it is always best to carry a combination of Paper currency, TC, Bank drafts and/or other forms of disposable assets.

How many CADs are required as Proof of Funds for Landing ??? Please tell..
