Hi Joe,

A friend of mine had the same problem. His application was returned due to cap reached with the UCI number. He resent his application under another category in which he has the experience but he was not able to track his application with the old UCI number... Your application reached on Jan 10th... So I suggest you to wait until you receive your fee gets charge or you receive PER...

UCI number remains same though your application was returned previously however as you applied on 10/01 your file might not have been reviewed by officer so it is not updated in ecas

for retured old application except UCI no. nothing is updated in ecas after your CC charge or PER ecas will identify with same old UCI

i think when u will get PER mail then u will be able to see ur ECAS status by using ur UCI number.not before that

Thank you very much for your comments.

But I think, you misunderstood my opinion. I didn't say that we have to get refrence letter with role & responsibilities from all employers and submit it to CIC in any case. What I have said is that experience letters (recieved from the employer to the employee at the time of resignation) don't carry roles & responsibilities. Therefore, an applicant must be looking for reference letter to fulfill the CIC requirements. Experience letters and reference letters are totally different letter in their context. If someone has obtained experience letter with roles & responsibilities from his/her employer, it can be used as an alternative of reference letter.

By the way, I didn't discuss if someone doesn't submit reference letter or one has to submit only reference letter. This is another topic. Frankly speaking, I didn't get reference letter from any of my employer, therefore I submitted a written explanation that for this & that reason I am not able to submit reference letter but I am submitting following documents as alternatives of reference letters. It is totally as per the CIC guidelines.

I agree with certain extent whatever you said Abu here........but when we apply to a foreign universities for higher education........it is true what you said ....getting recent reference letter ......because we do complete our bachelor's only in one educational institute......but when it comes to employment.........generally........atleast in India.......experience letters are not issued with role & responsibilities........

It is not possible for someone who have more than a decade of job experience in different companies to get Ref.letters from all employees.........unless h/she works with same employer for that duration........

In my point of view........CIC quoted all job related documents including Reference letters...........not exclusively Reference letters......If I am not wrong............am saying with my own experience......not one of my friends who got CaNADA visa put Reference letters except rest of employment documents along with roles & responsibilities on a palne white A4 sheet.

No where it is written that reference letters must not be less than 6 months old as far as my knowledge.
