This is quiet frustrating situation.
Its better you get in touch with the visa office of yours, directly if you have filed it yourself or using your agents' help.
The link where you should log your request for update on your status is mentioned in the email or letter you may have received from your visa office after your file got transferred from Nova Scotia, Canada to your local visa office.
If not, its better talking to CIC at Nova Scotia itself, given your situation.

IVR: 1-1-2-1-2-1

Then 8 digit client id number will be asked, listen the request 3 times without entering client id number then the call is automatically transferred to an agent. Here you discuss with the agent quoting your name, address, dob, email address mentioned, cell phone/telephone number mentioned in application which they will request for verification of identity.

From what I have heard from this forum, you can wait for your MR and then again wait for 1 week after conducting your Medical test, then apply for new PP on urgent basis, get your new PP and send it to NDVO for Visa Stamping assuming you got PPR along with MR.

Its not a problem. Its more than 13 months from now that your passport will expire.

If your application is already filed then you get your passport renewed after visas are done.

I wud have done so, had it been in my case. Passport renewal is not an issue afterwards. But if you do it in between, you will have to exchange a couple of forms with the visa office / CIC team and it may prolong period/delay your visa receipt. Your visas remain valid on the new passport too. But yes for them to stamp visas, your passport should be valid.

I ended up in strange Situation. I am having 8.5 yrs experience, in which 1.5 yrs in Aerospace Domain. I am interested to apply in NOC -2146.
I am getting 9 points in that by considering 1.5+ yrs. My remaining 7+ yrs wont be considered for FSW points..? will that go waste ..?
Can any one suggest me. If not I will see if i can try points weather My wife can contribute from her IELTS.

IF that 7+ years of experience matches with another NOC where the cap isn't filled yet, then you'll be awarded points for it. also, your spouse IELTS will be considered.....in gaining extra points......forumites, plz correct me if I am wrong....

Total number of years of exp will be considered for points. For eligible to apply in that noc min 1 yr relevant experience against the noc is required. Both are different. So ur total 8.5 yrs of exp will be considered for points. Go ahead get ur place in canada bro...

Srini,

Your 7+ experience is in Mechanical Engineering which falls in Skill Type A. If you attach reference letter for this experience, you are going to get full points. But your primary occupation will be Aero so you have to write it as your primary occupation and provide a reference letter for it.

You are perfectly fine with your experience.
