Hello buddies, I have a question:
If the visa office asked for an updated bank statement, can I also submit a bank statement from my spouse's bank account ?? (she is on the same PR file as me, I am the principal applicant though). Would they count in the spouse's funds towards the total requested from us, or all the money (almost 14,000 $) should be in the principal applicant account ?

Thx for your help.

Dear Everyone,

Greetings from Japan.

With reference to my immigration plans i would like to like to ask some questions and request your advice.

I have recently been selected to work with HitXXX,Japan where in i am thinking to continue for two more years. So far my work career has not been so good and i could not develop much skills as an engineer.I suppose working as Mechanical Engineer at HitXXX,Japan would give me a good experience and a brand name that would help me to fetch an engineering job in Canada.

For the above,I am considering to postpone my immigration plan for a while.
I would appreciate if you can answer undermentioned questions and also your thoughts from job scenario and immigration point of view.

1.What are the pros and cons of requesting extension to NDVO.

2.How is the job scenario in Canada, would working for big name and adding some skills help or immigrants without Canadian experience face tough time in general?

3.Out of the five year validity of the PR visa, for example lets say I enter at the 4th year.In that case,i suppose i wont be meeting the residency obligations and thus am i required to leave Canada?

4.Is an initial entry required to validate the visa?

5.Would i be allowed to study at university in Canada on PR Visa and does that count in the residency obligations?

6.Is there any news about the forms for my medical exams?

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks and Regards,
Manish

After getting your visa you can make landing in Canada and stay there briefly for 2 weeks and then come back to Japan.

You have to use your friend's mailing address in Canada for PR Card and get it couriered to you in Japan.

You have to stay 2 years out of 5 years to maintain your PR status therefore you can re-enter Canada after 2 years with your PR card and then stay in Canada for 1 year 11 months and 2 weeks on a stretch to maintain your PR status.

You can show CAD 14000 in your account, your spouse account or combined account of both. But you should not withdraw the money from the account where you initially deposited CAD14000. That amount should be there until you get visa stamped. You can not change the bank accounts in between. If CIC ask the bank statement and find the amount was withdraw inbetween they will think you borrowed the initial CAD 14000 as its not permitted and may hinder your visa progress...

INR...why to pay conversion charges
but wat if the value of cad appreciates on the day the visa office encashes the DD....suppose when you made the DD in INR the value of CAD was 58 and after 1 month when the DD is being encashed by NDVO, the value of CAD is 60-62...then your DD amount will fall short and in all probability it would be returned...and if course if the CAD depreciates to say about 53-50 then we would incur a loss.... so it is always advisable to purchase CAD and make your DD in CAD...So we dont have to worry about the erratic movements in the currency market...

Currency rate of 10th Dec, 2013.
you should go for DD in CAD to avoid worrying about forex exchange fluctuations....i made my DD yesterday for 980 CAD through ICICI bank...they have a tie up with Bank of Montreal...

Thanx for sharing Dhanoa.

Can you please explain us the procedure involved in doing so(step by step) and what all documents were required to be shown to the bank authorities?

plz share ur time line and ur application details. thanks

Know some banking rules.
There are no effects of fluctuations of currencies on Cheques and DDs. The value is date-locked on the day you get the DD or MC and is valid until the mentioned validity date.
My DD was valid for 3 Months. So for the next 3 months the value on the DD is locked and I could have handed over even after 2 Months 29 Days.

you just require a copy of your passport and a request letter from ndvo...nothing else....dd will be made within a day...
