Yes I got mine in Russia. How can we help you?
Thank you so much for your reply.

No i don't speak Russian, but my wife studied there for her university degree.
We managed to find someone to do the Police clearance certificate for us in Russia, but we don't understand the procedures after.
what is required after translating it? notarizing the translation only?! People at the embassy here say that we need to legalize it also from the ministry of foreign affairs in Moscow, is this really required?

As you know with respect to the requirements for documents not in the official Canadian language have to be accompanied with a certified notary copy. I think you need just the notary of the translation copy, because that was what i submitted. I did'nt legalize it. And i doubt ministry of foreign affairs do legalize police certificate because the issuing authority is same ministry of foreign affairs. Hope i answered your question.

Actually i was not asking about how to do it, i just need clarification about steps after, notarization and legalization... is it required?

Thank you a lot.
well, this is actually my opinion but the guys at the embassy here confused me and my wife.
Also as i am sending original Certificate attached to translation, so we won't need even to notarize
any copy attached to translation.
Thank you again for your help.

Extremely happy to share much awaited e-mail from NDVO. Today morning I have received AOR email from New Delhi Visa office. I have little confusion though. I have received an attached pdf document dated October 8, 2013 and the contents of Doc are as follow.

“This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada received at this office on 05/23/2013 (mm/dd/yyyy) We confirm receipt of your application package at the Visa Office in New Delhi. You must quote the file number above in all future correspondence with our office.
As your application has been determined to be eligible by CIO Sydney you are not eligible for any refund of the processing fee should your application be withdrawn or refused by the visa office.
Processing time
Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the category that you have applied to,require an average of 10 months to process at this office. If you have not received any instructions from this office 6 months after you submitted your full application, you are requested to contact this office directly.”

23 May is the date when application received at CIC Nova Scotia, but above e-mail says that it is received at this office (NDVO) on 23 May.
So should I start counting 10 months from 23 May or 8 October?

Admins please update my details...
Congratulations............ ;D ;D ;D

Woah! Lots of action is happening at NDVO. Congrats to all those who got AOR.

BTW, the average time of 10 months should be from the date of application filed @ NS. It's mentioned in the manual too that the VO's around the world will have to follow that lock in date. So I guess, for applicants of May, it's going to be March 2014 maximum.

I agree with u.

But don't u think that we should contact our VO's just after 6 months from the date they received our applications at NS.

As they quoted in AOR that "If you have not received any instructions from this office 6 months after you submitted your full application, you are requested to contact 'this office' directly."

As they also mentioned earlier in their AOR letter that "This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada received 'at this office' on
05/XX/2013"

Here point to be considered is they take the date of the application submitted at NS for all the TAT.

Please share ur views

Yes correct. Jigzzy has also referred to the same lock in date. Manual says: “Applications are date stamped upon receipt at the CIO and then checked for completeness in order by date of receipt. The “application received” date at the CIO is the lock-in date. Processing offices should therefore maintain the application received date from the time of the applicant’s initial submission to the CIO, and process the application to conclusion.” So for you it’s going to be close. Best wishes.

Between I am worried that no news is coming from LVO. Hope LVO also follows the same timelines.

I have already applied for my GCMS notes. Hope to get them in 15 20 days.. That will show if LVO is working on FSW'13 yet or not. Because I am May 10th applicant, so if there's any movement, that will be in the notes, else it's just waiting.
