The E mail on RPRF had the request for addl POF (6 months updated bank statements)
Specifically I did not want to mention about POF in my recent post as it had given room for lot of discussions and enough concerns to many members.
As I had said requirements and procedure followed by VOs differ.
6 months updated bank statement !!!!

Man they are dragging their feet, we should get a cap date. Good to know you have options.

Yes islandbabe, I saw it.

It seems I may be out but I just want to wait and see as we can't really tell the workings of CIC. It would be much clearer when they announce that the Cap has been reached, and after then from the forum we will know when last anyone from the NOC was charged.

I am already making plans for Oz. It is such a shame that the employment reference caused all this. But at least I am better prepared for next year if this doesn't work out. Thanks for asking

Let me enumerate in detail my case. This should answer some questions raised in the forum today

08th May2013 .. Application received at CIC
20th Jun 2013 .. CC was charged
24th Jul 2013 .. "PER" E mail received from CIC (Probably a couple of days later ECAS showed "In Process" - I do not know as I never checked)
05th Sep 2013 .. Received two E mails from CPPO one for MR and other for RPRF and addl Document request
06th Sep 2013 .. ECAS had second added line " We have started processing your application on 6th Sep 13

Medical Request:
The E mail had detailed instructions how and where to get the Medicals done. It also had an IME form in pdf exclusively made on my name with a bar code. This form was generated by CPPO based on my application. I was required to get the form printed and take it with me for the medical.
When I wanted to get an appointment with a CIC Doctor, the receptionist asked for the Reference number printed on my form and she could retrieve all my info in her system since their office is "E-enabled". I got my appointment 1n 10 days. I was asked to bring my passport, the copy of IME form and $ 400 medical fee. Since they are E enabled I was not required to carry 4 copies of my passport size photo. Otherwise you have to provide them with 4 copies of photo.

The medical took close to 1hr 30 min. Mostly waiting time. They do X ray for TB check, Blood test for HIV and cyphillis, Urine test for microscopic exam for blood, albumin etc. and general physical exam by the Doctor. There is no need to go fasting for these tests. The Doctor's office told me that they would send the report electronically to CIC. within 3 days once the lab results come.

(The medical exam costs anywhere between $300-500 [a rip off] across USA and appointment waiting time 3-25 days)

RPRF

The E mail had detailed instructions how to make RPRF payment which is CA$ 490 per adult.
I went to the designated CIC web site, created an account on my name and made the payment through CC for RPRF. At the end of payment the receipt came in a pdf file with bar code(Receipt number) and a few blank columns. You are required to print two hard copies of the receipt; fill the required info in the blank columns in hand writing (Your name, DOB, Client ID,Address, Zip code, and contact telephone numberwith area code); retain one copy for your record and send other copy with other requested docs to CPPO.

That is all what I have done and hopefully I have followed CIC instructions diligently.
Now waiting to hear from CPPO for PPR.

As I can see from the forum, the procedures and requirements adopted by the Visa offices vary.

+1

I received my PCC from FBI (3 weeks after applying to FBI) in Mar 2013 which I had enclosed with my application.and hence no request for PCC.
I had enclosed current month's Bank statement while applying.
Perhaps had I enclosed 3-4 months Bank statement with the application, may be... they would not have asked me to update my Bank statement like few others from CPPO have reported.

Hi folks,

I was wondering if we can can tell from the recent MR requests that MI-8 application will processed in front of other MI or we can not conclude that until we hear from visa offices like NDVO or LVO since they have the greatest backlogs. We are too many in the forum, can any one reach an expert opinion or someone who is updated with the situation in LVO or NDVO. I remember one forum member stated that David Cohen says that LVO won't process MI 8 applications in 3 to 4 months!!!!!! Is there any new updates I am sorry I can't remember the forum member name but I would ask everyone to network for additional info regrading our position in the applications queue.

Guys,

Last week, I went for the medical examination and when I called them they told us to come with the form(which will send by cic with medical request) and passport. They gave us a form to fill at the clinic and tested eye, ear, blood, urine and took x-ray.
For us around $400 per person for the med ex.
We didnt use Medical Insurance (Even though u can ask and confirm)

Thank you Smrithy. I am trying to google if there was any way the insurance can take the bill! I can pay the co-pay. I found one review by someone for one of the doctors in my area. The review indicated that doctor would not bill the insurance and that the applicant has to pay. It was same as you are indicating $400. It is a rip-off.

Please I need some help.I just got my IELTS results as:

Listening: 5.5

Would I be eligible to apply under the FSW?Thank you guys for the help.My NOC is 3142.

I sent mine on 3 Sept. Still haven't heard anything. But I believe shutdown shouldn't affect us because we are paying a fee to process our background checks (hopefully this department doesn't depend on Government budget).

Just been back from Passport office. I should be getting my daughter's passport renewed in a week. This is apparently the timeline for passport issued via tatkaal process. And ya no AOR yet. >:(

sinestra,
I will not advice you to send the passport for renewal, because of 2 reasons
1. If you get passport request from CIC then it will be available with you to send it immidiatly.
2. July 2014 is still enough time and i thnk since you have recived PER already it should be quick to get MR and Passport ..

PR visa which comes of passport is only for entry into canada..you get a PR card then onward to use for your trips to/from canada.
If you think its going to be quick passport renewal then i would suggest go ahead get it renewed.

Just an advice, because my passport is also expiring same time next year and i was thinking to send for renew in indian consulate in usa but thank god i ddnt sent it..
you never know what time take for renewal..

BTW Manish, it takes only a day to get passport renewed, if expiring, at Indian consulate in USA. You need to submit the papers in the morning, they issue a new PP by 4pm to be collected. So, it's not that bad.
