It is Not odd if you understand it from CIC perspective.. its fair

- You have a Real Estate (asset) whether mortgage or free/ full own, is of No worth for CIC because its nontransferable to CAD (if you get a PR and were to land in Canada).. unless you decide to Sell it off which is at your prerogative. What you want do with your immovable / non liquid assets is none of their business.

However, they would expect you to settle all your Mortgages'/ loans before you leave home country Foreclosure would require you settle in hard cash- liquidity !
Suppose, you stop paying EMI's after landing in Canada, your lenders will have to chase you down to Canada/ CIC

That is my biggest worry, I took housing loan with floating rate of interest and it is floating upto my nose now.

CIC is not interfering in your personal matters. see they want to confirm that do you have liquid amount of @ six month (jobless) expences in canada? thats it.

it is not mandatory that you settle all your liability before moving to canada. you can repay your EMI form canada also

You may be within CAP(chances are less but), what I advise if you have everything ready submit asap, nothing to loose than courier charge.

I had applied on Mid June 2013, still didn't hear anything from CIC.
I was supposed to be inside CAP. Now very much tensed as can't track my application update.
Is there any way to check my application status?
