Admin could you please update my status to "processing started"? Just received email from Vienna VO asking us to provide police clearance for me from FBI (we kind of dropped the ball here as I didn't realise I would need this for the 2 years I studied in USA).

Anyway - good news I guess as our papers are in Vienna and they are processing...? ::)
Many many congrats Bro !!!!

just to add sir. Pls see below.

Applications we will accept – Federal skilled workers
As of May 4, 2013, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will only consider federal skilled worker (FSW) applications from people who have:

at least one year of continuous and paid (full-time or an equal amount in part-time) work experience in a single occupation,
within the last 10 years,
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 edition of the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), and who are:
1. in one of the 24 eligible occupations,

Below is my case:

My current position on my company is Engg Project Manager which is NOC 0211 with 1.5years till present.
My previous position was under skill level A and B (Electrician 7241B and Engineer 2131A/2132A) with 7 years of experience. Thats why i got maximum points 15.
So you will get the points for work experience if your Occupation is under skill type 0. A or B not only if you are in 24 eligible occupation.
Hope it helps.
you have +1 from me ;)

abcpunjab, You will get points only on the NOC which is announced in fsw 2013 program, not for any other NOC which is not announced for fsw 2013.

For example if you have worked 1 year as "Computer programmer & media developer" in NOC 2174 and 9 years as Teacher (with another NOC, which is not announced for fsw 2013) you will get score for 1 year only and you will not get any score for 9 years experience as teacher.

I REPEAT YOU WILL GET SCORE OF YOUR PRIMARY NOC, WHICH IS ANNOUNCED IN FSW 2013 PROGRAM ONLY. DON'T GET CONFUSED WITH THE NOCs WHICH ARE NOT ANNOUNCED THIS YEAR 2013. YOU WILL NOT GET SCORE ON THE NOCs WHICH ARE NOT ANNOUNCED THIS YEAR.
This is the official CIC points awarding standard for work experience:

"Factor 3: Work experience (maximum of 15 points)

You will receive points for the number of years of full-time paid work (or the equivalent in part-time paid work) you have obtained within the last ten years. Full-time means at least 30 hours of paid work in one week.

You must have at least one year of continuous full-time, paid work experience (or the equivalent in continuous part-time work) in the primary occupation you specify in your application.

In order to receive points for all of the jobs you have had over the past ten years, your work experience must be in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B of NOC 2011. Follow the Determining your NOC category instructions above to find the NOC 2011 category that matches your skilled work experience over the past ten years.

You must provide proof of your work experience with your application. Refer to the Document Checklist (PDF, 240 KB) for more information.

Estimate how many points you will receive for your work experience:
Work Experience Points
1 year 9
2 – 3 years 11
4 – 5 years 13
6 or more years 15

Estimated Score | /15"

Now it's clear for everyone

Syham, NRK explained well i believe, but my general understanding is;

If you are applying under NOC e.g. "A" (in 12a) then whatever years of experience you have mentioned in 12b under NOC "A" will be counted to your score. This is a very basic thing.

Now, there may exists some exceptions that your work is similar or overlapping under different NOCs , but this will be sole discretion of the officer that he/she counts it or not (I believe this depend on your job description, how closely it matches under different NOCs). But yes, if you are apply under NOC "A" then years what are mentioned under NOC "A" will be counted to your score for sure.
@Stranger Friendlt...check what it says in 12a...it says identify noc to access weather your application meets minimum requirement to access.... so if you ave 1 year continuous or in parts exp in one of 24 nocs you are eligible to process...it wont say for it would be used for points.... for which it clearly says any noc from o,a,b.... but for gettin those years counted (of non primary occupation NOC) you have to have eligibility which is proved once one of the years is in one of 24 NOCS.... hope it makes clear...for more

for point system it nva mentioned the word primary occupation but mentioned before that wile clarifyin eligibility for processing your points for work exp.... hope it clears the air
