Guys...any idea what are the next steps/stages once the application is set for processing?
I have sent my app last week and know that it would be some time before they start processing but m curious to know what are the stages throughout the process.

Thanks Adralineforu

Thanks for your response and the link. What are the documents required?

this is my second passport , the first one expired last year.. So while filling the passport details online ..do I need to put only my present passport number?

Best Regards

I'm not sure if you could fill the details of all passports on the website but at least you fill the latest one and carry both when you go to PSK. (Shouldn't the two passport numbers be same anyway? The renewed ones are in continuation of the expired one but I'm not sure!)

The documents required are against all that have changed in your passport. For ex. (and as was in my case) Marriage certificate/Annex D if your marital status has changed, address proof if your address has changed, name or date of birth change if any of those are different from what is mentioned on the passport. The doc requirement is not big or lengthy but I would recommend you go to the Document Advisory on the same link before proceeding. I can't say much but requirements keep changing from time to time and you should refer to the website for latest info.

Do not forget to carry a copy of ARN that is generated online.
Good luck.

well, it looks like the real journey will just start afterwards :o
1. Your Canadian immigration application is screened in Sydney, Nova Scotia
If all the requirements are met, the Central Intake Office (CIO) will accept your application and make a preliminary decision as to whether your application will be accepted for processing
2. The transfer of your application and supporting documents from the Canadian Intake Office (CIO) to the Canadian Immigration Visa Office that will be processing your application
3. Your application is reviewed by a Canadian Immigration Visa Officer
4. A personal interview may or may not be required
5. Upon completion of a successful interview or if the interview is waived, medical instructions will be forwarded to you. You and your accompanying family members, if applicable, are required to undergo a medical examination by an approved doctor.
6. Request for your passport and right of Permanent Resident fee
7. Issuance of your Canada immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa

A long ride, and as I like to call it a marathon !
Good luck :)

Thanks pronto.futura. Yes, its indeed a longgg journey. Fingers Crossed.

Looks like CIC is busy this afternoon, just read a couple of tweets !

Most likely :), but please let's keep our own, private & intimate beliefs and religion away from FSW immigration forum. This is just not a place for it, we did enough of off-topics already.

Exactly... Well put balkanada! Just relying on prayers will add more countries to the so called 3rd world. Canada hasn't become Canada by prayers. It becomes annoying that some keep on saying pray pray pray! No offense dudes, just let's focus on what we all have in common. Cheers :)

Got a Confusion for the family name filling for spouse in the Generic Form... My wife's passport does not mention any Family Name (it is blank) and when I was filling in the generic form, it was not validating till I enter something in this field.. so we wrote her complete name under the given name section in form (so that it matches exactly as is in the passport) and wrote the last name (as already in the given name) again in the field for Family name in form.

A cover letter mentioning the same in detail was also attached in the application...

I just got info from another forum member that CIC website has an explanation for those who do not have a surname mentioned in the passport . It says... """"""If you do not have a surname on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field, write “not applicable” or “N/A” in the given name field."""""""

Do you think what I did in my form will be a problem.. There was nothing in the guide/checklist and I tried a lot to search this info but unfortunately never landed on the CIC website page which mentions this..

I really don't know what to do here as my application has already reached CIC.

I doubt it. Every thing else seems to be important and of higher priority than notifying people of the cap count. I know for sure a lot of people are going to be disappointed to have their efforts gone in vain due to lack of information .

I'm already disappointed when I see how one strongly academic Canadian company behaves, namely the WES.
As I told them in the email - I've had more promises filled by a Tele-shop guys then by them. They just say - np, we'll do it in time, you just pay. So I pay. And so they ignore it and just do it as I didn't pay at all! :)

I already have a lot of such companies/people in my home country, that's why I was trying to get to some normal country in the first place. So I wonder what is the point of all of this trouble.

I know it is hard to wait with patience but it is a must.
we all feel the same. please, try to put some optimism in your posts cause CIC is already making us depressed.

Ok, from now on - just happy thoughts! :P BTW, I wouldn't be a pessimist if my app was received on 5/10 like yours. ;)
You're in, now you just need to wait '14 months for 80% of applicants'.

Anyway, I did say earlier that NOC 2174 reported here will have over 20% of the total 2174 intake share, so obviously there is still time! ;)
