Agree with Jigzzy, you need 1 year continuous experience to qualify for a specific NOC category on the NOC LIST, but all Jobs in the skilled areas count as your total work experience.

You calculated correctly.

BTW its 0 and not O.

Guys,
Do you agree about this

"With regard to scoring points for work experience, not all of your experience must be in one of the above occupations.

So long as you have work experience in any National Occupational Classification category “A” “B”: or “O” in the last 10 years, you can also count those years towards your points for work experience. You only one continuous year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) of work in one of the occupations listed above"

Means if i applied for NOC 2131(4+years) then i have experience as Supply Chain officer as NOC 1225 (2+years)this would add to my experience points that means i will get max points ( 6+years)=15points.

is this the way they calculate points for work experience.

Guys let me know your.

Thanks
Yes, this is how they calculate your experience.
Simply you need only one year of experience in the occupation you are applying for (eligible occupation)
but overall, your experience is counted for the total duration of full time documented jobs you worked under skill categories ), A & B

Hey everyone,

Appreciate if someone can comment.

I have an ongoing Quebec skilled worker (QSW) application which I have applied 6 months ago. But after looking at time taken for a few applicants it looks like its going to take a minimum of 3-4 years to get the visa.

Now that my NOC (2131 - Civil Engineers) is listed under FSW it looks appropriate for me to apply for FSW as well. I know it doesn't harm to have 2 different applications but it is unnecessary waste of money.

My question is am I too late considering that I have not even started with education assessment (WES), although I have applied for my transcripts?

Do you think if my application reaches CIC by 2nd week of June it is too late and I would have hit the ceiling of 300 for NOC 2131?

Appreciate your comments!!!

This may have already been posted (but I don't fancy scrolling through 46 pages to check :) ):

You can view how each NOC category is filling up for this years FSW intake at this link: w w w.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications . a s p (I don't seem to be able to post links for some reason, so you'll have to remove the spaces to reconstruct the URL)

I expect the first update to that page to be Friday or Monday (that's nothing official, just my thoughts). Let's hope we don't see any category jump immediately to 300, or even close for that matter, but I suspect 2174 to have a good go.

Nobody can tell you if by this time NOC 2131 can reach the cap. Now, we don't have any estimated even figure for the number of applications that have been delivered to CIC....

My advice is just try to expedite everything you can do, pay for the rush service by WES, send the application immediately when you get the ECA... you won't lose anything to try to send it, so you will have 2 options: first if you manage to be there before the 300 cap, so this would be better than Quebec for sure (concerning the process time). Second option, if you don't manage to be there on time, so you won't lose anything, you would only lose the shipping fees and that's it.

Like Islandbabe said, just try in your faith and fate!
