Thank you very much. Many people will be able to make their payment quite easily.

However there is a flip side to it. When we make a payment in foreign currency using our credit cards, there is an additional charge levied by the Credit card company which makes it quite expensive. The good banks such as ICICI & Axis (that I know of) in India do not charge anything to make out a DD if you have an account with them. So individuals who are interested in saving money can think of using such an option.

Best Regards,

Anyone got the RPRF DD made out of Bank of Baroda? Any probable issue by going with Bank of Baroda? Thanks.

You can take the DD from any major Indian bank as long as they have a service branch in New Delhi and you are opting to pay the RPRF in INR :-)

Stamped Passport Received... Hurray.. Yuhooo... thanks to all the forum members for their wishes and I hope everyone gets their visa soon...

Got my Passport back yesterday.. and sorry guys couldn't inform you earlier as spouse had a flight to catch today so was super busy......

My experience at NDVO:

Well I visited NDVO on Monday as needed passport coz spouse had to travel.... My experience as follows:

1. Friday is off for client dealing but the office is open and work goes on inside. So visit days are Mon- Thursday.

Conclusion:
Like Islandbabe says nothing beats a visit to VO.. I have experienced it myself...
Guys who are working abroad connect to VO by email well in advance they will guide you appropriately and call you only when they can stamp your visa in 2-3 days.. You can even send a relative/representative at the embassy to discuss your case if you feel email is not helping..This way the life of visa officer is easy rather than just landing and informing them to issue you visa soon..
Rest its personal choice to send passport with somebody/take leave/leave job with pros and cons of each.

All the best guys.. hope my experience helps.. I am planning for my travel to Canada.. will keep you posted on that..

Excellent post... many thanks for selflessly sharing your experience rather than thinking... why bother!! people like your good self keep this forum going.... :) i am thinking of paying a little visit to NDVO myself , considering its like 5 kms from my house ;D

Hello Admins!!!

Can you please advise is there someone who is waiting to get MR even after the second line in ECAS has been updated on 7th Feb which is almost 2 months?

I have no clue whats happening with my Case.. :( :( :( :( :(

Its Been Very Frustrating and disappointing...I have sent CSE to NDVO on 5th of March...but still no reply...I dont know why is taking so long for them to reply....

Admins please help...

Hi Vijay,

Understand your frustration. We have many friends on the forum who are awaiting MRs with second line being added a while ago. Its easy for me to say hang-in, but unfortunately that's what we have to do. CSE may or may not get answered. But sure enough you will get the news from NDVO soon - much sooner than what the applicants from past years have been waiting for. All the best. :)

Ah, okay. Thanks pradsim.

Bank of Baroda is nationalized bank and has a branch in Chanakyapuri. So I guess, I am good to go. I will be paying in INR.

Hi all,

I received medicals 2 days ago and along with it doc request. One of the docs requested is "Letter from your current employer".

Can you please tell what kind of letter do I need? Is it just a letter certifying that I work for my employer? Anything special needs to be specified in the letter? I do not want to disclose to my employer that I plan immigrating at this stage.

Thanks.

Congrats tnm32.

Is it possible for you to obtain the letter from your employer in the format CIC has given on the checklist? I guess that would be best.

As far as I remember, that format mentioned following requirements. But you can refer the checklist on CIC website.

1. Should be on company letterhead
2. Should mention the joining date
3. Should mention full time job with xx hrs per week
4. Should mention your salary with other benefits
5. Should mention your job responsibilities
6. Should have contact details of the person signing it
