Hi All,

I know we all are speculating. My app was recd on May 14th. I am doing it thru a law firm based in Toronto. So the communication address given is my law firm's one.

What are the chances that if my app was rejected then I should have known it by now, because the package shd have been recd by now by my lawyer?

It took 7 days for Marta's one, so for me also it would be the same.

So any guesses.
You also need to take into account that when Marta submitted her file there wouldnt have been that many applications as compared to the ones sent towards the 14th May.

It was 8th or 9th day. Not on 5th.
Jigzyy - I hope you are right. But I am looking at the 2011 spreadsheet where 33 out of 35 applicants applied between 5 July and 8 July in NOC 1122 got PER. There were 2 exceptional cases (14 July and 3 August) but these were probably apps on waiting list and brought back into the process. Apps that were received from 11 July started being returned due to cap reached (see NER/returned apps tab). That tells me a maximum of 5 business days - but this is NOC 1122 which was probably the hottest last time around.

But all this analysis is to no use. This year could, and probably will, be very different in many ways. Let just hope for the best :)

I don't think it works that way!
ECA has been introduced, but not limited to, so that CIO does not have to check foreign educational credentials and save processing time owing to their pursuance to reducing processing time compared to earlier programs. Essentially, this has (or as anticipated by the Ministry) been achieved by appointing an outsourced body (WES and other bodies in our case) who takes over one important part of the entire PR process thereby saving CIO of one step.

It doesn't make sense WES evaluating an applicant's foreign credential and then CIC verifying WES's ECA evaluation. Simply doesn't makes sense!
What I meant was they are reconfirming the veracity -i.e that d document actually emanated from WES or any of the other bodies

Exactly Jigzzy which is why I reposted the 2011 timeline, to show applicants that it will be a while still before the masses start receiving their PER .....so their is still a way to go. CIC is very much later than usual with the cap updates, Today being Thursday maybe that will change, however when it comes the cap update really wont be of much use to applicants in the hot NOCs, they don't state the dates that they have checked off...ie......Cap count 250 ( for applications received up to May 12th, 2013) so you have no idea when they got to that 250 "completed" forms, plus they could on that date have 700 more forms to check through.

So..........................Happy Waiting :)

A week ago, this was happening ;D

Previous records show that CIC updates caps on Wed / Thu. So it's either today or next week Thu. Keep refreshing the Complete Application Page and beat the sh1t out of that today :P

I, personally, cannot see a cap update until some CCs/DDs get charged. But, again, I hope I am wrong and we get to see some action today :)

Meanwhile in CIO:

almost everyone received two copies..... your case is exceptional.... I think WES ppl knows that you will not required second copy... ;) ;) ;)(jokes apart)....

hope you should have a zerox of same with you..

hehe good one! And hopefully I won't need any other indeed.
But the stange thing is that in my app status page, on delivery status section it says "Evaluation Report 1 copy sent by International Express"...

Anyway, I have scanned it.

Hi friends..
I am planning to apply for FSW under 2174 the category 2174. I have 72 points. By next week I mayget ECA report from WES (which is the only pending doc) to apply for FSW 2013.

Now please advice, will it be wise to apply at this time?

just like what your WES letter stated, you should be getting 2 copies. my unsolicited advice would be email them right away. inform them about their mistake. anyways, it won't cost you anything (except for internet connection). you might be needing that missing copy in the future.

Hi thanks for the reply! I have done this already (the moment I received the letter from them). Even couple of times... They are not that client-oriented after they receive the payment I believe... Sad truth.

Personally I completed my ECA last year with WES in Dec 2012. I did that as per my lawyer's suggestion. Once CIC announced ECA on mid April 2013, I just requested additional copy which took only one day. I believe there are lots of other member on this forum got their ECA done in advance last year to meet old date.

By the way, still there is no update on my case. I will keep you posted.
Also I wont be able to check status of my DD as I paid application fees (1250$) to my lawyers and they created a local DD in CANADA which has faster/smooth processing.

Hi buddy,

Are you sure about your ECA is eligible for CIC. You say that it has been completed by WES in 2012, but here is what CIC say:

When you apply as a federal skilled worker with a foreign educational credential, an original ECA report must:

be included with your application along with proof of your foreign credential,
be issued on or after the date the organization was designated by CIC,
not be more than five years old on the date that CIC gets your application, and
show your credential is equal to a completed Canadian one.

I hope the date you asked for a copy (dated in the letter by WES I presume) would be OK for CIC...
