How did u manage to get your package to CIC so quickly??? Which service did you use??? I have a friend in Pakistan and his will not arrive until tomorrow.

FedEx is taking a lot of time to deliver. And going haphazard They first reached Quebec, than back to Mississauga, than New Brunswick, now in Nova Scotia but still the other side of Sydney ??? I am officially pissed off now!!

Really dont know why you are pissed off. They rendered your parcel more mileage service than you paid for ;D

Jigzzy - I checked google maps where exactly this Sydney, NS is and looks like its in middle of nowhere. I live in USA (right next door to canada) and the best FEDEX or US mail could reach there was in 3-5 business days. UPS helped in getting the package delivered in 2-3 days. I just see that this place is so remote and may be once a year, it gets flooded with applications!

Ha! ;D this is funny. Made me laugh finally .. but they shouldn't actually provide extra mileage, I din't signed up for that

Exactly. I got a quote from UPS, and it quoted next tuesday, DHL / FedEx both quotes the same dates [i.e., Friday], so I selected FedEx. Lets hope it does not cost me my application. :s

Funny thing is, it took 2 Days to travel the whole freaking world, and 3 days just to reach its destination with in the country. ;D

Ha ha ha. I know man. Now I keep checking my account online for CC charge.
I know its nail biting situation but it is also adrenaline rush 24 x 7.

I do not think CIC will do any charges this fast. They need to verify the documents and only if satisfied, they will charge so i guess by end of next week we may have some idea Remember they said for Money orders/DDs etc, they should be valid for atleast 30-60 days.. so it may even take end of this month to get to know it.

In previous application, it took an average of 3 - 4 weeks to charge CC based on timelines tracked. But that was when lots of applications were received, bar code not used, and backlogs.

I suspect this year will be simply straight and early. I expect this to be done in 2-3 weeks. Note: they committed to faster processing which starts with this.

It is mentioned somewhere in the CIC site that, if VO thinks you are not eligible then they will refund the fees.
Does that mean first they will charge and then they will see your application?

Has anybody heard from CIC yet? How is the process, basically? Do we expect to get a notification from them first (with some number/ID) and then they charge the CC? How did this happen in the previous years?
