One more question.....Hoping that the next step in the application is getting an AOR...do u knw any recent cases on an avg. ,when can people expect to get an AOR?? (How much time from the date of submission of ther application)

It was about 80 - 85 days since the application received at CIO in 2011. We can expect the same time, or at least 60 - 70 days. They will send PER instead of AOR now. AOR is obsolete.

Once PER is generated...i hope at the same stage fees would be credited from the applicant?? I hope my understanding is correct

Dear All,
I've got a question if anyone of you can answer that for me. My wife is a dentist and she plans to study at some Canadian university in the next six months or so. One of her hospital colleague has told her that she cannot apply for a student visa while my immigration application with her as the dependent is under process. The argument her colleague has given is that you can only have one route of entry into Canada.

I've told her that it's hard to imagine this because it seems fairly illogical that she has to wait the entire time until a decision comes on my application before she can apply for a student visa. But she still wants me to get this clarified.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks and regards...

I would say you should explore this option ... first u can surely without doubt can apply for any Canadian visa along with fsw.

2nd.. lets say ur wife gets a student visa, u as her spouse is eligible for open work permit in Canada. Ur work permit duration will be the same as ur wife's student visa's permit.

After ur wife completes her study.. she will be issued open work permit for the same duration as of her study visa. Now if she is employed in a skilled occupation ur open work permit can be extended for the same duration.

Via this ur doors are open to programs like CEC and PNP, where chances are far more brighter than FSW.

Totally Not true. Have your wife proceed as planned. there is a general thread here for work permit people, it may be a good resource for you.

You can definitely do both. I've applied for FSWP and will be applying for a Work Permit too, such things are quite normal.

Hello everyone,
I have sent my education documents to WES for reveiw and in reveiw since 26 May. I fall in NOC 2145. Self calc points with wife ielts= 77 & without wife ielts= 72. I hav registered my wife for ielts and will get her results by 22 June. New passport maybe available as soon as 14 june. However if i dont include my wifes ielts i maube able to apply on 14 june. If i wait for wife ielts i have to apply by end of june.

What do u guys recommend?
Wait for wife ielts?

@Muc,

I think you really may be able to wait. Your Noc really isn't popular. I would recommend you preparing all your documents and completing most of the forms and be ready to submit at a moments notice, while you wait and see what the NOC update states.

If CIC has started working on the applications then by this time some one should inform about his/her CC being charged.

since even early birds of this forum who delivered their application on 6th May has not been charged, does it mean CIC has not started yet and just collecting it?
